Quoiromantic

Type: Sexuality

Definition: Quoiromantic, pronounced like the French word for what, is a label with multiple meanings. It can be used by those who are unsure what romantic attraction is or feels like and so are unsure about if they feel it or not, by those who find the concept of romance or romantic attraction to be inaccessible to them, not applicable to them, or that it's nonsense, those who can't understand the concept or feeling of romantic attraction, those who disconnect themself from romantic attraction entirely, those who question their romantic identity for so long that questioning has become their identity, those who have questioned so long that it's frustrating and so use it to express said frustration, and by those who have trouble finding the difference between romantic attraction and other forms of attraction. It is a part of the Aromantic spectrum though not everyone who uses this label considers themself to be Aromantic in any way. Those who are Quoiromantic may use other identities as well. Those who are Quoiromantic are not always Quoisexual.

This is an alternate Quoisexual and Quoiromantic flag, made by chaotic-evil-gender in 2015. In order the colors mean:

This is a flag made for all Quoi identities in 2015 by epochryphal. The question marks are used to represent the questioning nature of the identity and questioning the more common understanding of experience, as well as refusing to answer when asked about ones identity. The shape was chosen to be non-rectangular to represent the discomfort from or the rejection of models. The color of both the background and the question marks is meant to show how subjective the perception of the colors is, due to the color looking both grey and purple, relate it to other grey identities, and to relate it to the color lavender, which has been used to represent queerness for a long time. The creator has stated they wish they had used 3 question marks instead of 4.

This is another flag for all Quoi identities, made in May 2019 by queer-buccaneers. It was made with epochryphal's design in mind, keeping the same colors and the non-rectangular shape, though a version that would be easier to produce. The question marks have been changed to 3 instead of 4, due to it being easily mistaken for a few unsavory symbols.

Quoiflaugender: A gender which is weak or which one feels weakly, thus being confusing, undescribable, nonsensical, inaccessible, or inapplicable to oneself

Quoimind/Quoipsyche is an identity for those who cannot — or do not wish to — define themselves as singlet or plural, either because the distinction is confusing, doesn't feel applicable, or actively rejects these categorizations.

I decided to coin this term based on my own experiences. Even though I can't quite fit into the "singlet" category, I also can't exactly relate to plural experiences. My mind is too confusing for me to be able to tell them apart, and terms like plurallet, demiplural, and plural-adjacent don't feel right either. So, after reading about some quoi experiences (quoiattractional, quoigender, quoimodal, etc.), I thought this would be an appropriate term to cover that (and perhaps other experiences as well).
