QUOTEVIANS HMU
I'm looking specifically for Quotevians of the BYGONE ERA. (2010 to 2015)
I wish to host an interview. Not a professional one but one where I try to dissect Quotevian culture using only the collective, limited memories of those present. I am looking to gain a deeper understanding into the subcultures and society present on Quotev at different times. Also this is mostly for fun, in general! I'm just curious.
Please reblog so this reaches more people.
been thinking about doing this for a while, but since some people's older posts seem to be getting deleted (to make room? who knows) I thought it would be good to save evidence from Tiger's oldest posts, which fortunately have not been deleted yet. the first image is significant because it is the best evidence (other than word of mouth from older users) that I have found that quizazz used to be accessed through facebook. The second is the best cutoff date that we have between the site's name change from quizazz to quotev. the “<3” on the end of the bottom post may be a remnant of the emojis that used to be part of the site.
Quotev, or quizazz, was such a weird point in my life. Like via 2013, all the stories were self inserts but they were GOOD. They had good writing and sometimes the OCs were a little marry suish but the plot and writing itself were always good. Stories were popular too, like some had 5000+ hearts.
People actually commented, unlike fanfiction.net or even archive. I had stories that were HUGE, got so many likes and comments that I wouldn’t be able to get anywhere today. Popular stories were one direction love stories, or Harry Potter or Percy Jackson inserts but there were original stories as well, and all were fantastic.
It’s honestly where I spent all my time before tumblr. And it’s so weird because everyone barely knows that site yet everyone seems to remember the popular stories. I’ll never forget Quotev. Recently I went back on and just like me, these people haven’t been on since 2012, 2013, and there is no way to find where they all ended up or why they stopped updating. I myself am part of that. I haven’t updated a story since 2013, and it was HUGE.
I don’t know, quotev will always have a special place in my heart.
i need every piece of quotev lore u have to offer dating from 2009 to 2010 only
oh hell i don't know… in 2009-10 obviously the site was still called quizazz (or quizzaz… But that’s a whole another road to go down. The rabbit holes never end.)
I can’t tell much unique about the site specifically at that time, but the wayback machine pages show that the home page had a live update feed list of quizzes taken at that moment (ex: Someone has taken What Backstreet Boy Are You)
The site's design was still the classic black, and more similar to its older sister site Quizilla, though a little more impersonal and corporate-looking. I am unsure whether or not it was still a quiz feature on Facebook. There does not seem to be any dashboard to access your profile with, but a button on the top of the site labeled “Quizazz Profile.” One of the site features was Forums. This may be the earliest version of quotev groups, but I don’t know for sure.

Have you ever tried to roleplay in any of your fandoms?
Yes! I've been roleplaying since 2010/2011. Started on Quizazz (now known as Quotev) with Glee. I actually have a Glee roleplay server I currently run. You can click here if you want.
I want to roleplay TLOU so badly, especially as Abby, but I don't want it to be a smut roleplay—just a general roleplay. Also, with people who understand I'm new to roleplaying in that fandom.
I also roleplayed Grey's Anatomy for one point.
Finally got the courage to look up my old Quizazz/Quotev account from early 2010's and realized I'd published over 40 things. One being a truly awful Oliver Sykes fic I wrote that has 30,000 reads which is like........yeah. I looked at the first story I ever posted on there in 2011 and it has over 60k reads. Idk, I just can't believe that many people read my words. Read some genuinely amazing comments that made me cry. All my work was so depressing, I was going through such a difficult time. I really really think I need to start writing again. I can't wait to reread everything written by 14 year old me and cringe for eternity.
