Kirito flinched ever so slightly as the train came to a screeching stop before him. He hated the subway... He always had... He much preferred riding the bus... At least that way it wasn't underground or on some rickety tracks high above the city itself... Yet today he had been forced to take the train... His destination was just out of reach, too far for a bus to take him... So, he decided to suck it up and do so just this once... When the doors creaked open he was surprised to see there was an open space. He stood next to a man with deep crimson bangs and piercing ruby eyes, a look of complete disinterest on his face as the train skidded on the tracks and began to move. He turned his gaze away for a moment, not wanting to be rude... Yet as he lowered his head he began to hear a familiar refrain and he shifted his eyes to find the song blaring from the ear buds the man beside him possessed. He bit his lip, deciding to take a chance, but not wanting to disturb or upset him. He tapped him on the shoulder ever so slightly, shifting his feet as he told him in a cracked voice. "... I love that song..." Not expecting him to listen he glared at his feet again, but as he looked up yet again he found the other smiling at him and replying to what he'd said...

Kirito yawned, rubbing his eyes as he walked out into the living room. Maka had decided to spend the night... But when he offered she stay in any of his roommates' rooms she simply told him she'd be fine with the couch... He tried to insist, but she was persistent... Finally he let her have her way... But as he walked out into the kitchen to get a glass of water he gasped lightly seeing her curled in a ball, clinging to the blankets, sniffling quietly and sobbing in her sleep. He rushed to her side, taking a seat, very carefully, at the arm, reaching out a hand before recoiling... Before slowly extending his fingers again to rub her shoulder soothingly. "Maka.... Maka.... Are... Are you alright...? Maka... Please... Tell me what's wrong...." He whispered in a hushed voice, not wanting to wake her but simply worried for his friend. Inching closer he sat on the cushion beside her, rubbing her back ever so gently. "....It's alright.... You're safe here... Nothing will hurt you.... I promise your safe Maka..." He blinked at the words, confused... Where were the words even coming from?! He just.... He hated having her so upset... And not knowing why... Had he done something wrong...? Had HE upset her..? He couldn't help but feel as though he'd done something to cause this.... "Maka.... I'm sorry...." He murmured, staying by her side, silently praying she would awaken soon and hoping... Truly hoping... That she would feel better if she did.... 

So last night I got drunk off of too much time and crashed my car into the moon. I had to marine crawl back, but on the way got stopped by the hippopotamus and arrested for public intoxication. I spent the night curled up on the ceiling whistling the theme song to My Little Pony and wondering why I knew that song. When my cell mate finally got sick of me his head spun off of his shoulders and from his neck was birthed a golden moth. It flew up to me, pulled off my face, and wore it as a neck tattoo. There in lies the lesson of it all, for if not by the dim flickering jail light sprung down amiss the squalid filth of the bar locked room, in the darkness light would not trickle through.
