But We’ve Been Good Children! || Nate and Rian
This was what winter break was supposed to be; unadulterated silence and stretches of relaxed days. This was also what Nate lived for; not like he hated classes, but who wouldn’t want some off days?
Today was no different. Bundled in scarves, he whistled as he walked around the length of the corridors, making discoveries in the day instead of the night where the light was weak and the danger of being caught higher. The light pouring in cast coloured light on the stone floors and it was just beautiful. The Gryffindor made a mental note to capture it in a poem some day.
Grinning to the redhead he found by the wall, it was as if something had triggered this sudden pelting noise. He stopped whistling and the first black pebble sized piece fell from the sky. And then he heard that godawful laugh. Peeves.
But it was worse; in the poltergeist’s hand was a sack of coal. And the first one was just thrown in the general direction of the only two students unlucky to be present in this corridor. “Holy...shit.”
