Hellās My Home - Chapter 1
Kellinās P.O.V.
We walked along the little path next to the lake. It was worn down with age with crumbling stones but I wouldnāt have it any other way. This was the path I had gone down so many times and held too many memories for me to want change it. My hand suddenly felt warm as his engulfed it. He tugged me along as I had stopped a moment, just thinking about how long it had been. I looked over at the lake. It was reflecting the sun. I looked up into the sun only to see nothing in it.
āStop thinking.ā He whispered in my ear. His body suddenly engulfed mine. Natural warmth that surrounded every demon radiated off of him, warming the core of my soul.
āWhy is there no sun? I can see it reflecting in the water, feel the warmth from it on my body during the day and lack of it at night but up there,ā I pointed above my head into the never ending darkness, āI see nothing. We need to visit it soon.ā His hand once again engulfed mine, bringing it down from pointing to the nothingness and instead to his lips, kissing the flesh tenderly.
āThere would be nothing of the above world if that were to happen. I think of it as a blessing sometimes that we can have night unlike heaven. They have the sun all the time, for the most part, but when you look through the clouds all you see is earth and land and what they have destroyed of it. Stop thinking.ā His body came closer to mine until we were chest to chest. His arm circled my waist, cradling me to him, comforting.
We continued down the worn path and out of the garden and back into the house. A fire was lit in the fireplace giving off a glow into the main room. āI will never understand you and fires.ā
āItās in my blood now. A fire runs through my veins.ā His fire red tail swung at me and poked me in my side causing me to jump since that was an incredibly ticklish area of mine.
āI know, I know, thatās why youāre always so warm, Vic. What can I say, I love it.ā I shrugged my shoulders and continued up the stairs to our room.
āDonāt think you can get away from me that easily, Kellin.ā Vic appeared in front of me instantly. He wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me up. I clung onto him instantly, arms around his neck, as he carried me into the living room. He sat on the couch with me in his lap with my legs thrown to the side and curled into him. I rested my head on his chest, feeling the beat of his heart.
āWhat do you think I would look like if I had actually made it to an adult?ā I asked him. His hand curled in my hair for a moment before running through it again while the other rested on my thigh.
āI can show you based on your most probably future if you like.ā He looked down at me. I saw his irises flash red for a moment before turning back to the familiar brown I knew and loved so much. I nodded at his offer. He held his hand out for a moment until I mirror appeared. I looked into it, seeing my eighteen year old faced squished into Vicās chest until it turned.
My past appeared. First, it was of me extremely young and working on a farm. I got older though and the image changed dramatically. I was wearing a well fitted, old time suit just like my father while my mother wore a very elegant dress that hugged her waist and lifted her breast up slightly. The scene kept changing at that point then, from when I got caught kissing a boy and my dad hit me to the last moment where ended it all. When I was growing up around the 1850ās being gay was completely wrong. The glass turned murky until my face came up. My hair was slicked back and I had some stubble on my face. I looked so different compared to how I look like now. My hair was longer and very floppy while I had stayed in style with the mortal world.
āI look dreadful.ā I muttered and buried my face into his chest.
āYou say that every time.ā
āItās true.ā He didnāt respond after that because he knew I was right. My eyes had a dead look to them, hollow, and you could tell any day I was going to end it. Arranged marriage, wealthy with no love, no dreams, I was going to die whether it be by my own hand or not.
āWe should go to bed, itās getting pretty late and I want to take you to the surface tomorrow for our date.ā He picked me up and carried me upstairs to our room. I could vaguely see the stars reflecting upon the late outside our window. He set me down on the red, satin bed before climbing in himself. The room was darkly painted with a red bed spread but held a sense of lightness to it. It was an upbeat and happy feeling unlike some people might think.
Vic threw the blanket over us and I snuggled under it, body pressed against Vicās and tucked safely into his warmth. āWhat was it like being turned into a demon, Vic?ā
āIt was painful at first. I wasnāt sure what was going on when it even happened. I had been living in hell for a while when a strange fire seemed to erupt in my veins. It was just seconds after my mom and dad had joined the council down here in hell. It was more painful because no one had actually turned me into a demon and the same goes with Mike. We dropped to the ground. What felt like lasted for hours was only seconds though. When we checked in the mirror little horned were on our head along with the demon looking tail. I wasnāt too fond of the features at that time but theyāve grown on me and on the plus side we got some powers, also. They are really convenient at times.ā
āWould you have changed how you died?ā
āNo because if I did I might not have met you. ā
āYou probably still would have met me even if you didnāt turn into a demon.ā
āThatās not true.ā
āThings happen for a reason.ā His words caught me off guard. What would have him becoming a demon of hell have changed him meeting of me? My brain whirled around with the possible answers until well past midnight, Vicās heartbeat had slowed down, and my mind was numb with the pain of trying to understand his words.
Morning hit me pretty hard from how late I had stayed up but it was worth it waking up to a world full of kisses on my face. It didnāt take long for us to get ready and eat. Vic was taking me to the surface today. Itās truly been a while since I actually, truly, saw the sun and stars.
The first thing I notice is that the earthās surface is cooler than I had originally thought since living in hell was warmer. Iām really glad I brought a jacket. It was about midday so we were going to be up here for a while until we could see the constellations.
āWhat do you want to do while weāre up here?ā Vic asked me.
āI have no idea. I thought you had this planned out. Iām pretty much open for anything.ā
āWell, thereās a carnival in San Diego every year so I was thinking of taking you to it until the sun started to set.ā I agreed immediately to the idea. It had been many years of actually going to one and I wanted to compare them to when I was alive. Vic circled his arms around my waist, pulling my chest flush against his, and in a moment we were between two buildings. The temperature change hit me instantly. I pulled my sweatshirt off and had Vic teleport it back home, one of the perks of having a demon boyfriend.
āDoes this place have the twisty ride thing?ā I asked. I had never been on the ride where you spin in circle and the floor drops from your feet, only seen them occasionally in shows as the years passed.
āYeah, weāll go on that first.ā We walked into the bright sun. The light blinded me for a moment and brought tears to my eyes. it truly has been too long.
āAre you ok, Kellin?ā Vic asked me in a concerned way.
āYeah, my eyes just burn from not living with the sun for a while.ā After I had adjusted to the light we walked, casually passing the people and into the carnival. It wasnāt the first time something like this had happened, it was one of the perks of being with Vic and having his parents on Hellās council.
Once we got tour carnival Vic let me do whatever, with some guidance of what things were since he kept up the time way more than I did. I made us ride on all the rides at least twice and saved the best for last.
"Hurry up. I want to eat in line for the ferris wheel." I told Vic as I held his wrist and dragged him along. The sun was setting so it was the perfect time to have a romantic setting for our date.
I waited in line patiently but antsy. Vic had his arm wrapped around my shoulders. I rocked on my feet back and forth in anticipation. Finally, the worker said we could go in the cart thing and I couldn't have been happier to oblige. We made our way on and sat as the ride started to move.
I held Vic's hand as we made our way to the top. He rested his head on my shoulder and mine on his. The ride stopped periodically as to give everyone a chance to see the sun set beautifully and reflect off the water.
"Wow." I breathed out as we reached the top. The world was cover on oranges, reds, and yellows with the slight splash of blue from the water that was otherwise batted in sunlight. "This is beautiful."
"Yes, it is." I heard Vic say from behind me. I turned my head slightly to see him focused on me and not the view. I turned to face him fully as he slowly stepped towards me. His hands rested on my shoulder once we were chest to chest. My back rested on the window. His hands slid down my chest and laced around my hips. Vic rested his forehead on mine so we were looking deep into each other's eyes.
"You're so beautiful, Kellin." Vic said quietly, lips slightly brushing against mine. Chills of pleasure ran down my spine.
"So are you. I love you so much." I wrapped my arms around his neck and pushed my lips onto his. His arms tightened around me. My head tilted slightly in an attempt to get as close as possible to him as I could. His tongue darted out and brushed lightly against my lips. I parted them, allowing our tongues to tangle.
We were jerked sideways as the ferris wheel started moving again. Vic's grip on my arm tightened as we landed in the seat. The cart swayed slightly as we descended. I jumped out once we were back on the ground safely.
"Are you ready to go home?" Vic asked?
"No. Let's walk along the beach. Maybe see if we can find a ledge to sit along like it the stories." I replied. We left the carnival and headed towards the beach. I took my shoes off and held them. Vic did the same. His hand enclosed mine as we leisurely walked along the shore.
The sun was going down down as the evening was passing quickly. A chill swept through me but Vic's natural warmth was very comforting. The hand holding mine let go and glided up my shirt, comfortingly resting on my waist.
"I love how warm you are." I whispered, more to myself than Vic.
"You're lucky I'm a demon otherwise I wouldn't be that wame. His hand squeezed my waist slightly before relaxing.
I walked us over to the boardwalk and sat down before putting my shoes back on. The moon was a good distance up in the sky at this point. Unfortunately the you couldn't see many stars since this was a city so the pollution blocked them out.
"Can we stay out for a little longer?" I absentmindedly asked, the sky having most of my attention.
"Anything for you." He replied. His hand slid up my shirt again, giving me goosebumps as his fingers glided lightly across my skin.
My head was pulled back. Lips attacked my own. Vic climbed on top of me and started grinding himself against me. I opened my mouth so our tongues could tangle passionately. I rested my hands on his hips and started thrusting my hips up. His lips left my own and were soon placed on my neck. I turned my head to the side to give him more access.
āMore.ā I moaned breathlessly. He gave me one last nip, most likely leaving a mark, before pulling away.
āNo. Itās getting late and we need to go back.ā Vic said while climbing off of me. I stayed down though trying to calm myself down before going back to hell. Finally, I put my hands up so Vic could help me up. He lifted me up and wrapped his arms around my waste. I took one last look at the moon, assuming it would be the last time I get a clear view and not the reflection from a lake, as we teleported back into the fiery depths.
It wasnāt even an hour later when I strange feeling came over me. I was laying on the couch absentmindedly watching current world shows when this feeling started in my chest. At first it was a tingle running along my heart.
I got up to get a glass of water hoping to wash the feeling away but I didnāt make it that far. I took a step until this tingle turned into a sharp pain. I gasped and clutched my chest as my knees went weak. This pain was getting so intense that it was getting harder to breathe.
āVic!ā I yelled. The pain started spreading outwards into my shoulders and torso. My legs gave out and I fell to my knees. āVic!ā I screamed even louder. Tears started leaking out of my eyes as this pain spread even further along my body. My breaths were coming out in strangled gasps at this point.
My body gave out and I fell onto my side only to fall into the muscular arms of Vic.My whole body was in extreme pain as if I was on fire. A shooting pain like lightning bolts were constantly going off in my head and I couldnāt think straight.
āWhatās wrong, Kellin?ā Vic, asked. I glanced briefly at him to see worry in his eyes before closing them again in excruciating pain.
āPain.... Everywhereā¦ā Was all I could manage to get out before a strangled yell left my throat.
āWhere did the pain startā
āC-chest.ā Suddenly a striking sensation his my heart and everything stopped. The world was getting blurry. My limbs were getting heavy. Sounds were fading.
āNo. This canāt be happening!ā Vic yelled. I barely heard it though. I felt⦠Like I was floating⦠Floating into a different world.
Vicās P.O.V.
I watched as a light started dissipating from Kellinās chest. I knew what it was. I knew exactly what it was. Kellinās soul.
āWhy is this happening?ā I muttered uselessly to myself. I thrust my hand at the light floating above Kellinās chest, right above where his heart is, only to have it pass right through the sphere. Kellinās body felt lightly now. It was disappearing. I looked down only to realize I could see through Kellin. I clutched him to me, the last moment I could before his body and soul disappeared only to God knows where.
