S: What? I'm in your office. I'm taking up real estate.

Me: You're never taking up real estate. You're brightening up my day.

I feel so seen! 😭😭😭

I hate when I don’t have the best comebacks when something is being said about me or during a conversation.

Dream Diary March 3, 2024

Background: I was writing a blogpost last saturday and realized the difficulty I have in composing so my frustration might have reflected through this dream.

I used to be tormented by dreams of exams because I disliked school but this dream was different The exam was uhm. magical? First, as I read the questionaire, it came with a pop up visualization as a hint. The question was about how Dr. Rizal became a world reknowned hero. Then, a popup visual of footballers with their uniform numbers came out from the testpaper. Somehow, I got the hint that it was referring to the age of Rizal where he displayed how remarkable he was. As I wrote on the test paper in my ugly scribbles. It transformed into written words in blue and it moves to in an orderly way upwards to maximize the space of the paper. However, I was so frustrated in norganizing my thoughts that I kept striking through the words until there is no more space to write my answer in. I requested for another answer sheet and saw the proctors puzzled face. As I resumed, I heard an inner voice. It told me that I will never finish it if I focus too much on the details in arranging it by chronological order of the age. Instead, just like everything in life. I have to visualize and think of my main argument/end goal. Then, use every factual component to support the main argument.

It reminded me of my brother's instructions to me with regards to language. He told me no don't translate it word by word. You should compose the sentence first and translate it as a whole. And, I always reasoned with my brother that I couldn't do it.

Then, the inner voice told me. You cannot do it because you lack confidence in yourself. You think you are slow when in fact you are very smart. You are quick witted so stop pretending to be dumber than you are. You can do it but it will take practice as you need to reframe your mind.
