@neverendlngstory // starter call // tallest purple
Wide, unblinking eyes stared at the screen in front of him, ignoring GIR’s frantic pleas to watch various television shows, though sometimes the robot’s incessant shouting became a bit too much, and Zim diverted his attention for a brief moment to insist that the robot calm down, suggesting other activities that he could do instead. It felt as if the Irken had been sitting there for hours, and perhaps he had been. He’d stopped keeping track quite some time ago, but he would not give up his quest to wait. He was far too determined for that. After all, the Tallest had promised that they would call today to check his progress, and that was a call Zim was not going to miss. After all, what kind of invader would be be if he missed such an important transmission?
Finally, after enough time had passed- (Had the sun been setting outside when he’d initially sat down to wait? He couldn’t remember, but it was certainly setting now.) the screen blipped to life, displaying static for a moment before the picture of the tall Irken came to life before him. Zim’s eyes lit up with a childish sort of excitement.
“MY TALLEST! Invader Zim reporting in- eh-” He paused for a moment, staring confusedly at the screen before continuing on. “I was under the impression that you would both be here to hear about my incredible feats in my war against the humans, but-” He was cut off by an abrupt scream from GIR, who was looking back and forth between Zim and the leader, pointing frantically at the screen shouting “LOOK WHO’S ON TV!!!!!!”
“GIR, BE QUIET!” A few more screams from the robot ensued. “NO, GIR, I will NOT ask My Tallest for taquitos.” ... “NO NUTS EITHER!” Finally, he turned his full attention back to the screen. “I’m sorry, My Tallest, where was I? Which of my amazing conquests would you like to hear about first?”
