A Trick and a Real Treat
Tonightâs the night. It was a night of worry and fear for Alex, more often then not. But now it was a business opportunity! ⊠No. No no, donât call it that. Then it would sound like her dead mother and the rest of the night would be plagued with bad feelingsâŠ
No, tonight was a night of enjoyment! As according to plan, Zack was at home with the kitchen, the Transportalizer, and extra cooking supplies. Alex and Frenchie had set up a booth close to the small townâs neighborhood, and they had both posted a promotion about this booth online. She was a little worried that not too many people would come but she was wrong. It was a nice thing to be wrong about. The people of town adored this Holiday, and there were plenty of kids and even an adult or two taking treats and impressed by her trick of growing small candies into huge pieces with a special crystal and a little reflected light. A few people were also impressed with their âcostumesâ of Music and Nature. Great Gray Faces were to be treasured at all costs.
What was not according to plan was Alex sneaking the huge Egg there with her. It should be at home. Warm, safe, still. But it was out here and shivering almost constantly. Every few seconds (and after the âcostumersâ were gone) sheâd bend down to check on it.
It was nearing the end of the night and the shorter of the two chefs was yawning more frequently. They should probably pack up soonâŠ
Thatâs when she heard it. Very faintlyâŠ
(crrrck!)
The Egg was Hatching.
