this is my placeholder title for the ghost au people have probably heard me talk about at this point. essentially the plot is sam buys a house for wildly cheap in the DC area and he finds out the reason why is bc itās haunted by a ghost. said ghost is bucky barnes, and they have a very antagonistic relationship at first, as bucky does NOT like that someone has moved into his home. enemies to lovers, iām still figuring out all of this plot, but iāve generally got the ending figured out which is usually what i struggle with (and iāve written a few scenes here and there!)

The real estate lady puts on the worldās fakest smile, a key asset to her profession, and shakes her head. āTheyāre all just rumors, Sam. Nothing to listen to.ā
He crosses his arms. āWhat rumors?ā

My thoughts:
I'm not a fan of AU, to be honest, HOWEVER, this fanfic was extremely good. Sam is so precious in this story, and Pirate Bucky is so whipped by him. I really liked their dynamic, and the main story of this fanfic is enthralling. I'm really glad the author is writing a part 2, but this one part is amazing on its own.

fun fact every time i reblog these i'm excited to get questions and then i remember i have never remembered anything i've written ever so i just skimmed through a quick reread of religion lmao askjdhfkad
3. Whatās your favorite line of narration? (religion)
i feel like this is a cop out but i'm very partial to some of the opening narration bc bucky pining is my jam. like i wrote this in the fic and i was like damn should i keep going? iām three sentences in and iāve already peaked lmaooo
Heās still not entirely sure how he got to this point in the first place, straddling Samās back and roaming his hands over his skin, but as he digs his thumbs into Samās shoulders and runs them down his bare back until he finds the pressure point on his spine, he canāt decide if this is a gift to be treasured or the worldās cruelest punishment.
Whatever heās done in his life, both as hero and assassin, he doesnāt think he deserves it.
on a less serious note, my favorite thing iāve ever put in a fic ever is also in religion, which is, of course
God, Bucky really does love arm.
5.Ā What part was hardest to write? (hey princess)
doesĀ āthe outlineā count as an answer to this? bc for real, the hardest part of hey princess was trying to write an au that wasnāt just the movie in its entirety with sam and bucky instead of mia and nicholas. i think i did a decent job????? idk iām very proud of that fic but i do still worry it was Too Similar,,,
because of this, i had a lot of issues with chapters 3 and 4 in particular, as thatās when i really was likeĀ āfuck iāve written a ton of words and this needs to be more distinctā and also that was when i switched from the arranged marriage partner being maria rambeau to ayo and making sarahayo happen, so those two chapters in particular took significantly longer than the rest of the fic to write. i think iād really found my rhythm and my way by the end of chapter four though, and i wrote the rest of the fic in like less than a month!Ā
but yeah hopefully those first four chapters arenāt too clumsy lmao. people seemed to like them tho, so i think it turned out alright!
