The feeling of a hand in his hair, even if he hadn’t expected it, had the boy leaning into the touch, brief as it may have been. When the hand was withdrawn, and he was no longer distracted from the familiar weight of a flower tucked in the honey-coloured strands, he smiled and reached up, delicately feeling a petal with a bony finger. 

"That’s so sweet, Kau. Thank you. <3" The child cooed, pleased and touched by the simple act. He turned then, and leaned up to press cool lips against Kau’s cheek.

"Wha’ do I thin’ o’ Mr. tall-an-silver? ‘E’s a damn giant for one. But ‘e ain’t too bad. ‘S not often locals warm up ta me if they spot me sneakin’ ‘bout either. (Speakin’ of, how’d ‘e do that?!) If I get a drink outta ‘im, ‘e’ll officially be me favourite ‘first contact’ in a while.
