As much as Glitch is being publicly tarred and feathered lately, I think it’s important to keep perspective here that they are doing the titanic task of altering job market security benchmarks for workers and kicking an exploitative industry model the teeth.
This is bigger than the online behavior of a few people.
You’re allowed to be mad at Glitch, you’re allowed to withdraw support and signal boost other indie projects you deem more worthy, that’s totally fine, but also consider this is a mixed blessing situation. Please do not continue to malign fans of Glitch when this is not anything like a Chik Fil A type thing, nor JKR (ulgh) where they’re actively funding bad organizations. At the end of the day, it would be nice if Glitch held their collaborators more accountable for their behavior, but.
I do not know how to leverage that. Maybe you do. Harassment and death threats haven’t worked. Obviously.
So … all that’s not the only variable at play here.
Leading the charge on this is enabling other indie projects to thrive, and arguably making it possible for the content that you’d want to see “make it” to break into distribution networks like they did.
It is a more complex situation than either/or wrt good and bad.
Hype for Knights of Guinevere, basically confirmed QPP main character rep!
