In a time where my U.S. passport and white privilege allows me on a plane to Toronto, I’m thinking about all the people whose travel, homes and health are threatened by our current fascist government. I’m also praying for the safety and protection of a child in my chosen family who’s fate will get decided on by our court system. These are horrifying times we are in. I know many of us have changed our lives drastically this year to adapt to the wide spread threats to humanity and our dear treasured mother, earth. Of course our most dear ones, our personal lives would be deeply affected by government decisions. I’m so grateful to the web of healers who are artists, acupuncturists, small business owners, house cleaners, poets, servers and dreamers who are working on levels we cannot always see overtly. I’m grateful to the rituals of my ancestors, to my guides who I don’t acknowledge enough who are supporting the work. Off to Canada to document this parallel work with my dear friend of the soul Orev Katz and the gifted @chanibocks. You don’t need any credentials. Your own wisdom is all the power you need to be a Jewish ritual leader.  We do mikvahs in lakes, rivers, bathtubs, showers, outside in the rain, from teacups and in our imaginations. 💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧💧 Mikveh has been continually practiced since ancient Judaism. It is an offering of unbroken Jewish lineage you can claim/re-claim as your own. Queer mikveh practice can be a tool to all Jews and non-Jews who want to heal wounds caused by white supremacy and colonialism.
