how did u get contract offers? :0 have u been submitting a portfolio or resume ?
YEAH basically iāve been submitting portfolios and responding to things i might see on twitter. i always include the offer of contract work if a company canāt actually hire me. iāve also greatly benefited from word of mouth (thank you guys so much) which is been pretty invaluable. getting the right connections is key!
queenwitcher replied to your post: hi kandros! since you're tipsy can u explain why...

HOW did u do the scales??
Painted them by hand! and then doubled the layer, inverted the color to white, and set both to overlay! And i moved the white layer a little bit upwards, to create the illusion of light
oh AND i also painted the scales touched by the rim light separately, i thought it would give a more natural feeling
it wouldn't let me IM u but... do u do the value in monochrome and then add color later/after? or do u use color from the get-go and those monochrome r just practice?
I draw with color from the start, I usually do monochrome when I want to do something simpler and just work with shapes and contrasts. Iāve tried colouring from monochrome but It is still hard for me to get the colors right with that method, I need more practiceĀ š©

ok i gotta go to sleep for real but 1 more thing before i do
āā¦put it back on me,ā Kaidan said.Ā
Thane gazed at him intently. āAre you certain this is what you want?āĀ
āDonāt make me beg, Krios.āĀ
The last thing Kaidan saw was Thaneās thick, luscious lips curving into a sensual smile, as he slipped the satin sleeping mask back over his eyes.Ā
i can't remember of ive asked this and I know it's an Imani Basics 101 but how does she feel about/think of irikah?
ooh no this is a good question :D
Imani admires her a lot tbh. The story of how she met Thane was by itself enough--the fact that she, as a civilian, was willing to put herself in harmās way to save a total stranger because of the strength of her moral convictions was something Imani found remarkable. But the way Thane talked about her too, there was a lot to admire. She related to their situation too, tbh, and empathized.Ā In the past, Imani ruined more than one of her own relationships with a civilian because of her demanding job.
She never felt any sort of jealousy or resentment over Irikah. The way she looks at it, that bond Thane had with Irikah, and the life that they shared together, is part of what made him the man that she loves. Maybe part of it too is that she realizes he probably sees a great deal of Irikah in her, too. On a theyāre both devout, strongwilled women with a passion for justice, thereās the way Imani literally stepped between Sidonus and Garrusā sniper rifleĀ (I even wrote a drabble about this over a graphic), and just on a superficial level they both haveĀ āsunset-colored eyesā despite being different species.
Thatās not to say ImaniĀ neverĀ had issues about it, I mean sheās only human and has moments of doubt and weakness just like anyone else. The flipside of those similarities is that thereĀ was the occasional insecurity that Thane was attracted to Imani solelyĀ because she reminded him of Irikah, as it were, and there was the fear that she couldnāt live up to the eidetic memories he still had of her. Imani also admittedly worried sometimes that because she was human, sheādĀ never be able to give Thane a biological child if he wanted another one (she had similar worries about Garrus, tbf). ButĀ she worked through it by talking a lot with Thane and reminding herself that itās not a competition. The thing is, despite her occasional insecurities, Imani never believed that her relationship with Thane was somehow diminished by his past with Irikah, or that it didnāt mean as much to him because it was (eventually) a second marriage. Imaniās never viewed love as a zero sum game with winners and losers, or believed in that One True Love stuff.
Kolyat was much more of an issue tbh, because things were definitely awkward for him re: Imani at least in the beginning, once the kid knew that dad was serious about the new girlfriend. Her role in stopping him from assassinating that politician got them off on a bad foot, then he had that typical sort of teenage resentment when a parent starts dating again, and it got worse when Thane married her and Garrus and all of a sudden they were raising children together. He was still bitter about Thane being an absentee parent, vanishing from his life to seek revenge, etc. and to watch Thane being the dad to Hanali in particular that he never was for him was...yeah. But that got worked out after a lot of talking and spending time together and getting to know each other. It helped a lot thatĀ Imani knew that she couldnāt replace Irikah and she didnāt wantĀ to, even if that were possible, and she made that very clear to him. Once Kolyat realized that, and that she wasnāt trying to erase his mother, he relaxed and was more receptive to her.
And the funny thing is, he does eventually call herĀ āMomā, though itās mostly as a snarky kind of thing.Ā āGet your coat, itās cold outsideāĀ āSure, Mom.ā But he does come to view her as another mom (and Miranda too for that matter, especially since he ends up with Oriana).
