Queen Of The Highway - 2, 5 and 11
Throne of Blood - 1 and 9
Queen Of The Highway
What scene did you first put down?
The scene that I first thought of was Elena dancing by the fire and having a drunk man kiss her. Indulging him in the same way Tatia seemed to indulge Klaus before going to Elijah. Only in this, it would be Klaus that she was chasing after.
What part was hardest to write?
Honestly, probably all the stuff with Klaus and Hayley only because of what felt like a lot of opinions on where the story should be going that I was getting at the time. I wanted complexity in their story and for certain things to still happen in a way that felt like fate. That even though Elena changed her story drastically by leaving, that coming home had kick started this sort of chain reaction of fate.
What do you like best about this fic?
It is so sprawling and my first fic. I like that it's the one that got me back into writing and into a community of people. And through writing it, I learned that I prefer present tense.
About the fic itself, I like the longing that Elijah and Elena have for one another but that at the end of the day, Elena needs someone who would do anything for her. Who wouldn't care if the world would burn if they were together because it meant he got to be with her. I think she's the type of character that needs that level of devotion.

What inspired you to write the fic this way?
I just loved the idea that this sacred place to Klaus would be, in a sense, defiled by Elena who he thinks he killed. That he thinks he won when in reality, in the longer game, Elena has established a decent foothold in New Orleans by the time Klaus would make it there.
Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
I don't think so. It's still fairly new in its inception. The only thing I'm re-considering is telling parts of it from Klaus's point of view. So far, he hasn't really shown up and it's all from Elena's point of view. I initially felt strongly about keeping it that way, but occasionally I think about it changing my mind.
