1923. On the last day of their Monteroble tour, the Earl and the Countess of Lucrète honoured Their Majesties with a ball at Vassyl House.

HM The Queen opened the ball with the host, while HM King Joseph did the same with his wife. Monteroble’s most remarkable upper-class and aristocracy personalities attended the event to commemorate TM’ visit, which has finally come to an end after four days. They are expected back in the capital this week.

HM Queen Edith II is presiding at the opening of the new railway works next month, a huge progress in Brosnia’s communication net that will presumably have a great impact on the economy.

House of Cleavreau - Family Tree

This is the House of Cleavreau family tree, starting with the first monarch of the free Brosnia, His Majesty King Edward I. Only the monarchs that followed him and their children are represented. Other descendants, second degree or more, with the exception of the heirs to the crown, are omitted. 

The Kingdom of Brosnia’s monarchy follows an absolute primogeniture line of succession; this means the firstborns, regardless of their sex, always have preference.

Her Majesty Queen Edith II is the current monarch and Head of State since she ascended the throne in 1886. Her firstborn, HRH Prince George, is the heir apparent, followed in line by his daughter, HRH Princess Clarisse and her younger brothers, HRH Prince Nathaniel and HRH Prince Joseph.

Long may she reign.

1923. Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph arrived this morning at Vassyl House where they will stay during the four-day tour that is planned through the region of Mont-Baix an its capital, Monteroble. The arrangements for this trip include a military parade, a royal ball, a visit to the recently restored National Library of Monteroble and a tour through the country’s largest clementine plantation.

They were received by TRH the Earl and Countess of Lucrète; their eldest son and Their Majesties son-in-law, TRH the Viscount of Monteroble; his wife and Their Majesties daughter, HRH Princess Edith, the Viscountess of Monteroble; and the earl’s youngest daughter, Lady Josephine Northup.

1923. On the third day of their Mont-Baix tour, the visit of Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph was celebrated with a military parade through Monteroble, the capital.

The event attracted large crowds that gathered at the city’s main streets and avenues, hoping to see Their Majesties. This is the first time the Queen has been to the Mont-Baix capital for an official visit since the war ended five years ago.

The Viscount and Viscountess of Monteroble, Their Majesties’ son-in-law and daughter, followed the monarchs’ carriage in the procession. It has been implied that their presence is part of the plan to improve their reputation and popularity, after the great damage Princess Edith’ image suffered before her wedding.

1923. On the second day of their Mont-Baix tour, Their Majesties Queen Edith II and King Joseph visited the largest (2.500 ac.) and most productive brosnian plantation located 50 miles north of Monteroble, near Troyans.

They were offered a tour by the land’s owner and Their Majesties’ host during this trip, TRH the Earl of Lucrète, in which they learned about the new methods in agriculture that have been implemented there, based on the use of new and more modern machinery and the improvement of crops. This allowed last year to be the most productive one since the war.

Their Majesties were also greeted by some of the estate’s agricultural workers, as a representation of the nearly 400 men who are employed there.

PRINCE GEORGE UNVEILS DEVERAUX’ WAR MEMORIAL

1923. The city of Deveraux celebrated this morning the unveiling of a new war memorial dedicated to the local victims. HRH Prince George conducted the ceremony and pronounced a speech in which he praised the sacrifices that were made for the cause.

(...) It is my duty and my honor to dedicate this memorial to those who fell fighting for their Queen and country. To them we owe a debt that can never be repaid. Let this be a symbol of their sacrifice, and become a place to cherish their memory (...).

The region of Deveraux lost almost 2000 men during the war, and a considerable percentage of those who returned alive were harshly wounded. It was the second most affected region in terms of war casualties right after the capital, Bayrón, that lost almost 4000 men. 

The celebration gathered hundreds of people from different classes at the city’s main square, that has been renamed the “Remembrance Square”. Among the most remarkable attendees were the Duchess of Deveraux, the Count and Viscountess of Lagrèyere and the city’s mayor, Mr. Ferdinand Newby.

1923. Deveraux Castle released the official portrait of the royal family on HRH Prince Joseph’s christening day.

In the first picture, we can see the newborn with his parents, the Duke and the Duchess of Deveraux, surrounded by TT. MM. Queen Edith II and King Joseph and the little prince’s godparents, HRH Princess Edith and Mr. Thomas Hughes.

In the second picture we have the Deveraux family; the Duke and the Duchess with their three children, HRH Princess Clarisse, HRH Prince Nathaniel and the new arrival HRH Prince Joseph.

The last picture is a beautiful portrait of the two proud parents with their newborn in his christening gown, the same that his two older siblings wore on their christening day.
