the speakers are maybe the worst part and definitely the worst part after you actually get into the casino
as some context for people that haven’t played dead money, speakers basically set a countdown for you, and if you’re still in the invisible (you hear beeping when you’re in range, so literally invisible, you know when you’re in it/out of it, but you can’t judge how far you have left before you’re out of explosion town) “range of influence” when the timer runs out you explode
This is frustrating because of junk like that one stretch of catwalk where there are two speakers you must shoot out, one is hidden behind you when you come in and another is over a door, BUT, you also, with both speakers shot out, have almost exactly enough time to make the run (assuming you’re crippled in the leg anyway, and you probably are because Bear Traps) so what you really have to do is run into the room, whip around, shoot the hidden speaker, run out of range of the speaker above you, run up through the catwalk stretch, shoot the speaker above the door from the side with fallout 3+ “your guns randomly fire off to the side for no reason because Skills” mechanics, do a suicide dive over the railing so you fall out of range of the third speaker (that you can’t shoot) and then sheath your weapon (if you don’t you move too slow to make it, Hope You Know That) then run up through there and never hesitate for a second because if you do you’ll explode anyway and let me tell you that’s a tall task after exploding like fifteen times in trial and error because you hadn’t puzzled out or spotted the speakers you Absolutely Must Shoot Out 100%
The Absolute Worst
