“Tomorrow’s career day at school” your son Elliot says while you are all having dinner together

You nod remembering that he already asked you to go some days ago

“Dad’s not working tomorrow, he could come with you” you suggest 

”Yes, I’d love to, we’ll have a good time”Roger never had the chance to do it because of tours or the studio and he would actually love to be part of it

“I don’t know” Elliot mumbles while playing with his fork and looking down at his own plate “I already asked it to you mom”

“I know, but I get to do it every year. And I don’t mind if dad will come tomorrow, it will be fun”

“I-I don’t think that’s a good idea” 

Elliot keeps looking at his plate and you can see that Roger’s smile drops

“Why don’t you guys go play to the living room while me and dad wash the dishes?” you suggest once dinner’s over

After that the kids run to the other room you get up and sit on Roger’s lap

“Do you think he’s embarrassed about me?” He askes, his tone really low and sad

“No love, it absolutely isn’t because of that” you try to reassure him as you lay your hands on the sides of his neck “he loves you and thinks you’re the coolest dad.”

“Then why he doesn’t want me there tomorrow?

“I’ll try to understand it, okay?” And you kiss your husband tenderly hoping to comfort him

Once you’ve tucked your son in you sit on his bed and caressed softly his hair 

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” 

“I-” “It’s that kids always think bad about me being dad’s son.”

“What do you mean?” you frown looking down at him

“They say that I have good notes only because my dad is Roger Taylor and- and they say that their parents told them the same thing.”

You had to hold back the anger that was forming inside you

You knew about those stupid parents talking bad about your son and favouritisms that he may have because of who his father is.

Bullshit, from the first moment you made it clear that no matter who his father is, Elliot’s got to make it in his own way.

“Screw them” you told him “They’re just jealous that their father isn’t a rockstar.”

A big smile forms on your son’s lips “They’re jealous that my dad is really cool”

“Exactly” you chuckled “If you are proud about your dad then this is the most important thing. It doesn’t matter what other people think.”

“Can you tell dad that I’m sorry and that I want him to come with me tomorrow?” 

You smile lifting your gaze and see Roger laying against the doorframe 

“Why don’t you tell him?” 

The next day Elliot walks in class holding Roger’s hand and smiling up at his father.

When it’s his turn he stands up and says proudly. “This is my father Roger and he’s a drummer, he’s a rockstar.”

You were backstage with Roger and your five years old daughter 

your daughter sat on Roger’s lap as he made her bounce to the rhythm of Bowie’s songs

“(Y/N) you have to come with me, it’s almost your turn” your manager says

You get up and walks out of the truck you were sharing with your family, Roger following you with your daughter in his arms

They both are excited and she claps her hands squealing

“Good lucky mommy, I know you will be great” she says smiling widely and hugging you 

“Good luck love” Roger kisses you 

You walked on stage and start to perform in front of all those people

Any time you turn to the side you can see your daughter singing along and bouncing in her father’s arms

“You were the best!” she almost screams once your set is finish and you walk back to her

“Hey, you still have to see dad” Roger jokes as he hands the little girl to you

When it’s Roger’s turn you let your daughter down and smile as you see her dancing to the songs

You’re impressed by how well she knows all the words to their songs

As Crazy Little Things starts she turns around looking at you with wide eyes

“That’s my favourite!” 

She takes your hands swinging them “Dance with me mommy” 

You laugh as you both dance and sing along

As her favourite part of the songs approach, she stops dancing and turns around looking at his dad

“Untill I’m ready” Freddie sings

And then Roger turns his head looking at his daughter and they both shouts “Ready Freddie?” 

She giggles and jumps happily looking at you and you can swear that your heart is about to burst

When the guys finish the last song and greet the public your daughter slips out from your hands and runs on stage to her father

Roger smiles picking her up and kissing her cheek

“I’m sure one day you will steal Freddie’s place”
