Daylight wouldn’t last much longer.

Not that much was making it through the grey clouds above. They had that dark bulbous look to them, maybe the sort of shape that would foretell a storm to someone who knew what to look for.

Geoffrey didn’t have much idea, just knew they were heavy with rain. Likely wouldn’t be long before it started to fall. He was cold enough already, certainly wasn’t in the mood to be soaked.

Didn’t have much choice though. Another mile and he’d be through this field and on the edge of town. There was an old station with watered down gas on the border. He couldn’t quite remember, but was decently sure they sold gas cans too.

Geoffrey would be kind of screwed if they didn’t. Would be very screwed if they weren’t even open. Was always the issue with mom and pop places, wondering if they’d even be open on the weekend-, “Damnit!”

Geoffrey threw out his hands, but there was nothing to catch himself on in the tall grass. He pitched forward, cold stalks slapping against his face, the ground hard against his palms and knees. “What the hell?” He glanced back, lifting his foot past the obstruction, brows furrowing when he caught sight of something through the gap of the grass.

“My dear, reconsider,” Renning urged, though he was already entirely sure his words would be in vain, “Thunder and lightning will soon abound. I would be aggrieved to see you struck down for no reason but that you wished to partake of the rain.”

But no, Aoba still dashed out, so sweet a smile on his lips, such a rare sighting of cheer across his visage. “You worry too much.” There was still enough light in the sky to see the brightness of his hair, a dark dampness slowly spreading forth from the crown of his head.

Still, he showed no care, face to the clouds above and arms out. “The doctor told you that was bad for your heart.”

“Your demise would be undoubtedly worse for it,” Renning tried instead, though Aoba only flapped a hand at him, still such evident cheer in the sweet curve of his face.

Truly he looked as if a man unbowed by circumstance, a grace to the swift slide of his feet, something so very playful and full of youth in every turn of his body. It was almost peaceful, uplifting in a way, for Renning to have this in his life, a brief and pleasant pause in the continuing abysmal spiral that seemed to dog their every waking hour.

Such maudlin thoughts. Unnecessary, when in the face of such gaiety.

“It’s perfect,” Aoba decided aloud, turning aside and biting his lip for a moment. He came forward then, grasping one of Renning’s hands and pressing it against his chest, holding it tightly with both his own, “And…and so are you.”

“Hardly!” Renning burst at once, shocked into laughter, the denial as routine as taking in air. “A flattering thought, but I think not.”

“I don’t really care what you think,” Aoba then informed him, such a pleased haughtiness to the lift of his chin.

What’s your name? 

I go by hhav, stally, whatever

What’s your character’s name? 

Whelp, Geoffrey was my first, followed by Renning and Bertram.

Is your character an original character? 

Bertram sort of is?  Him canonically is more of a split personality, rather than the captured spirit I make him to be. He also has no real personality in game, since his lines are when Renning is all drugged up by Izuka, so he’s pretty much my interpretation.

If not, what series is your character from? 

All my boys are from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance/Radiant Dawn. GO PLAY 

Does your character have any special abilities? 

Sort of? Bertram and Renning are very sensitive and resistant to dark magic. Geoffrey and Renning where blessed by the Goddess Yune, and still have her magic coursing through their veins (in their main verse) and are occasionally affected by it.

Describe your character’s personality? 

Geoffrey is a friendly guy, but has a bit of a temper. He’s on the tamer side of cocky. Bertram is tough and coarse, but isn’t out to cut your throat. Renning is very stoic and cold in manner, as he’d unused to anyone carrying for anything past his blood.

Describe three relationships or friendships your character has. 

We’ll do Renning for this one. His three closest relationship are with his niece, Queen Elincia, his protege, General Geoffrey, and his dearest confident, Duke Bastian (OTP alert). 

What your three top pairings for your character?

Doing Geoffrey. Geoffrey/Volke is my all day OTP, my OTP of OTPs, spanning any fandom and universe. Here’s why.

As of RP land, I really like him with Axton (total adorable babe) and with Zelgius (BECAUSE YES)

What’s your least favorite pairing?

Again for Geoffrey, It would have to be Geoffrey/Elincia, as discussed above. For Renning, prolly Renning/Lucia or Renning/Leanne? (Not that I’ve seen it, I just don’t want to)

Describe your character’s relationship with their parents.

Geoffrey parent’s are dead in his main verse, and they had a rather neutral relationship. As the second child, he was never heir, and was given less attention as his sister was prepared to take over the duchy.

Renning’s parents are dead, have been for a while, and it was really his older brother Ramon that raised him.

And the less said about Bertram’s, the better.

Does your character enjoy music? If so, what type?

They don’t have favorite styles really. Everything is fair game so long as it sounds good.

Does your character have any hobbies?

Geoffrey collects silverware and serving implements (weirdo), Renning enjoys riding immensely, and Bertam likes to drink. And fuck. And drink more.

List three positive things about your character.

Bertram: he’s very strong and independent, he won’t kill you for sport, he’s got empathy

List three negative things about your character.

Renning: He assumes the worst of most situations, he is very cold in mien, and has low self-esteem.

What made you decide to role play this character?

Geoffrey just so brave and honest and dear and wonderful (and I was amused at the thought of romancing Volkes with him, lol) that I really felt he needed more attention as a swell guy.

Kaito gritted his teeth, trembling hands clenching into fists where they were cuffed behind his back. The murmurs and chatter and shouts and bids was all just unbearable noise in the magician’s ears and he squeezed his eyes closed in a vain attempt to shut it out, to focus, to turn his attention on getting himself free and out of here instead of listening to people trying to buy– “–and sold to the gentleman in the back!” The thief flinched, head jerking up as the man beside him slammed the wooden hammer down. He didn’t have the time to locate the ‘gentleman’ who was to be his new owner - a shudder rippled down his spine at the thought and he suddenly felt naseous - before he was roughly pulled aside as the next person to be auctioned off was forced up onto the stage. Fine. Alright. He could do this. It was better this way. Easier. He glanced up as he was jerked to a harsh stop, indigo eyes narrowing into a glare at the man beside him only to be rewarded with a sneer and a tongue pointedly licking across chapped lips. Kaito’s throat tightened uncomfortably, and he swallowed, gaze darting off to the side, before slowly, reluctantly, drifting up to meet the eyes of his owner. A small smirk, forced and much less confident than the one he usually threw the taskforce or detectives, stretched across his lips and he leaned down into a bow - well, as much of a bow as his chains would allow, anyway. “A pleasure meeting you, master~” Not that he’d remain his ‘master’ for long.

No time to back out now.

“Right, hey,” Geoffrey returned, accepting the chain when the escort handed it over. “Let’s-, uh, let’s go.” The guy it was attached to was still as short and slim as he’d figured from the distance. The only variable left was if Geoffrey could convince the guy to help him out.

A hand touched the back of his shoulder when he turned away, the tension inside growing worse. “You may make payment at the east gate,” the escort commented, way too much enjoyment on his face.

Ridiculous.

Foolish even.

This-, good lord, this was the height of unnecessary.

Renning made no attempt to make less the apparent ire in his visage, eyes narrow and arms crossed as he waited at the terminal. No doubt it would have been more prudent to have his driver await the new arrival, but Yong’s body had apparently decided that today was the proper day to go into labor.

No matter. If anything it would be a good opportunity to make clear his expectations. The next weeks were far too important to allow a sudden tag-along to throw a wrench in the works.

God, an intern.

Who even had interns, in this age?

If his board of directors was to be believed, it was a common occurrence through much of the business community. What wasn’t so common, as Renning had insisted at great lengths, was the attachment of these youths to the actual heads of business.

Good god, but you are so ridiculous and sweet! I’m smiling so hard, you don’t even know! I look like a loon over here!
