Does anyone know how you get into the quantitative-X field?
So, as everyone does, Iβve been looking for my passion in life. Something that is not a hobby, but rather a field I like learning more about and enjoy spending 40 hours a week grinding at.Β
I have a background in comp sci & applied math. I am currently doing my masterβs in math with a concentration in fin. & act. math. Looking for internships, I cam across the quant field (i.e. quant dev, quant researcher, quant trader, etc). All job postings seem to be the perfect fit (job description & qualifications), but I keep getting rejected and idk if itβs cause I just have the bare minimum or I donβt have past experience in the field (which like wtf these are internship posts Iβm applying for...) or maybe the market is just super saturated? sigh
Anyways, anyone have any suggestions or personal experiences?!Β
Finally I have made up my mind to become a quant trader. Becoming a quant trader looks like a daunting task at the moment. But I am confident if I work with determination, I will become a good quanβ¦
