#quad housing

When I got Laurent's house, I always planned on it being a home for the boys. It took quite a bit to finally get inspired enough to get something together, though. But is was worth it for the final result!

This is, quite simply, a very lived-in place. It's not a grand space, and there are some... questionable design decisions (they're lucky they haven't stepped in one of those cracks in the shower floor and broken their ankle yet), but it is home, and that is all that matters. :)

Originally, I had planned on using both floors but then I was struggling with too much room, lol. I'm happy I did as it let me add those little touches and details that make the house a home.

A lot of my FC mates live in this ward, and I wanted to move my small there... and I happened to win the lottery for this plot! I knew Makeplace could save and load your layouts, and I thought I saved Getaway's...

But well, I didn't know how to use the plugin, apparently, LOL. So it was time for a renovation! I've learned quite a bit about decorating since that original build--not to mention some great new housing items releasing that I could take advantage of, like the Skyscapes and the Rattan Partitions.

I finished decorating my island! I had a lot of fun with it... but wow, only 90 slots to decorate so many areas is not nearly enough. As such, I only decorated part of the entrance area, and the little bit of plot at the top with the amazing view.

I'm particularly proud of that bit--the idea of a private, slightly overgrown hot spring area overlooking the island... it's beautiful! I'll admit I spent a lot of my slots on it, though, lol.

Still, I think the entrance area came out well with the slots I had left. It's a nice, inviting place with lots of greenery :)

I was pretty happy with the original version of my medium house, but I didn't really like how dissonant the top floor felt from the first floor and outdoor section. It felt like two different builds, almost.

So, I decided to renovate the top floor to be a flower shop, and updated the outdoor section to reflect that better too!

Finally, this build I actually made for my two Viera (even though the house belongs to neither of them LOL), it's the flower shop they eventually open after all the WoL business is done with :D As such, there are some neat personal details I added in there, and I was just more jazzed to redecorate in general. Anything for my blorbos ;w;

Since I got into FFXIV's housing, I always wanted to try and make a Thavnairian-inspired house. Of course, on top of not having a house, there weren't many items that could fit the theme well. Yes, some very creative people managed to pull it off, but I wasn't as experienced with builds and had no clue how to go about it.

But this latest patch offered me two things--first, a small house on my main, allowing me to use the full extent of housing items and my savings; and second, a slew of Hannish items.

The Hannish items were a lifesaver in terms of the aesthetic. Not only did they look great, but you could just... buy almost all of them from the vendors. Thank goodness.

I haven't had much chance to decorate in-game yet--as much as I love it, it takes a long time and it takes a lot of patience. However, I really like the FC Room I built.

This is a nice bathhouse with a little tea nook off to the side! I wanted to make sure it had a lot of light, so it didn't feel stuffy.

I might swap out the windows and maybe add a couple of other items, but honestly, I'm really happy with it, still.
