         THAT MAKES YOU SMILE,  small, maybe a bit unsure, definitely hesitant, but it’s a smile nonetheless. it’s a smile and it’s genuine.  “ so you’re saying that i make you bold? this makes you bold? ” you take his hand then, fingers intertwining,  “ i think you make me bold too. ”   @qrady

                                   the door hadn’t been completely closed. she’d just pushed it open and bare feet carry her inside the room he was sleeping peacefully. she’d woken up on her own instead of being woken up by ... other people. can’t remember the last time that happened. stands next to his bed and watches him quietly, unsure whether she should wake him or not. her first instinct is to put her hand on his forehead but she just lets it hover before pulling back. poking, maybe ? she decides against it. a breath leaves her.  ❛  owen.  ❜  oops, louder than intended. she pauses, gives him a moment to wake up.  ❛  ...  i need your help.  ❜

   If you hear someone ruffling through your things when no one’s meant to be wherever you live, you probably shouldn’t freak out too much. It’s probably a mostly harmless purple alien, looking for food ( and anything shiny, like the lizard we all are, deep inside ). Sure, you probably will be freaked out if you see her, but... you probably don’t have to be. Just... just so you know.

   She recognizes her flaw too belatedly -- wears the lines of her face flat, stares downwards, unmoving, unspeaking, still as though she had been caught committing some serious felony. She wants to amend that she meant only in this area, but felt, again, any explanation she could offer would be paper thin -- and hardly sincere. “I offer apologies, sir. I spoke rashly.”

"... Dinosaurs, huh? Are they sure they’ve... thought through all of the ramifications?” It seemed like a pretty shaky idea to him, but hey... brave new world, he supposed. How well this place would work remained to be seen.
