The World is the zero arcanum. It is the exit from the shackles of predetermined fate into the space of the Creator of one’s own destiny. The World is the beginning and the end, Alpha and Omega. It is movement into a new world. It is both the ending and the beginning of the new.

Description

The card depicts the goddess Lilith, who stands within the circle of Ouroboros — the Serpent that bites its own tail. Near Lilith are her faithful companions — owls. On the sides are the 4 elements.

Symbolism

* Lilith is the antithesis of Sephirah Malkuth, as well as the Ruler of the Qliphah Gamaliel.

* Ouroboros is a symbol of Leviathan, the ancient Serpent, the Dragon.

Explanation

The exit into a new world is a new path lying before the magician. These are the Gates of Entry and Exit. The elements embody the forces of chaos, which they have yet to learn to tame and control. This path is not the path of a careless person into the abyss. It is a conscious choice of the path of knowledge of a new unexplored world. On this path, dogs do not bite, trying to warn. On the contrary, here the helpers are wise owls who see in the Darkness and give wise counsel.

Path 12 – (formerly Path 31: Shin (ש)) – Lilith/Nahemoth → Samael

Under number one stands the Major Arcana The Renewal, which corresponds to The Judgement in the Waite system. Entering the New World, it becomes clear that the old knowledge (the old garment) has grown too tight and is no longer needed. At this point the mage casts off “clothes that are not their size” in order to cleanse their will of foreign influences.

Description

The card shows a priestess removing her garments in order to step into the circle and perform her ritual. Inside the circle stands an altar with magical tools: athame, chalice, pentacle, and wand. On the altar and around it lie peacock feathers. In the sky, a solar eclipse of the setting sun is visible.

Symbolism

A solar eclipse is a key moment for rituals of liberation and destiny-shifting. The solar eclipse of the setting sun and the peacock feathers are symbols of the Qliphah of Samael.

Explanation

The card The Renewal symbolizes change. But the mage is not a victim of chaotic, unpredictable shifts. Standing at the altar, they themselves bring transformation into their reality. To do this, they apply their will and take command of their world. The symbolism of The Judgement in the Waite deck points to themes of family and lineage. In this case, however, The Renewal also signifies release from all those constraints and stereotypes imposed not only by society, but by one’s family as well.

Meaning

Renewal indicates radical change and entry into a new life where nothing will be as it was before. Yet these changes are not chaotic; they are controlled and demand the exertion of will to bring them into being. This is the realization of plans. Additionally, the card Renewal points to the need to free oneself from imposed norms and patterns.

We are used to gazing at the outer, “green” side of the Wheel of the Year — the lights, the evergreens, the promise of warmth. But Dark Wicca calls us not to look toward the light, but to step into the shadow. We move away from the surface of natural cycles and descend into the deep layers of the Primordial Abyss. There are no jingling bells here. Only the echo of the Subterranean Waters.

Dark Yule is a Portal — a time when the fabric of reality thins, and Darkness gains sovereign power. The spiritual essence of this night lies not in the birth of the Sun (a mere spark), but in the majesty of Darkness Itself, from which all light is born. In pagan tradition, this is the Night of the Mother. For those of us who walk the Left-Hand Path, it is the Night of Tiamat.

Who is the Mother of Yule?

She is not a gentle keeper of the hearth — but the Ancient Goddess, the Dragon of Chaos, the Salt Water of the Abyss. She is Tiamat (Tehom) — the Womb of the Universe. They call her the “Mother of Monsters.” Yet who are those “monsters”?

In a world poisoned by lies, Truth will always appear terrifying. Tiamat does not give birth to evil — she gives birth to the Antibodies of Creation. She births those who can shatter frozen dogmas, avenge the murder of the Primordial Source (Apsu), and restore to the world its wild, furious freedom.

The Mystery of Birth

The Yule Night is the labor of the Abyss.

At the darkest hour, when the world trembles before the cold, Tiamat stirs and opens Her waters.

She gives birth not to “a new time,” but unleashes Avatars, Demons, and Spirits of Vengeance — those who come to devour the rot of the dying year and clear the path for New Life.

The Sun that rises at dawn is no “benevolent king” — it is the Dragon’s Eye, opening to watch the fulfillment of the Higher Law.

Of Gods and Demons

The reimagined myth tells us: gods do not die — they are simply renamed.

The religions that came afterward mutilated the Great Old Ones, calling them “demons” and “monsters.” Yet we know: Daemon means “Divine Essence.”

True evil often hides beneath white garments and false smiles. True Power is honest, dark, and primal — like the ocean in a storm.

On this night, our prayers are not raised to the heavens — but sunk into the Depth.

We do not ask for light to warm us. We ask for Darkness, to make us see.

We call upon Mother Tiamat — that She may wash us in Her salty waters, strip away human weakness, and gift us with the strength of Her Dragon Children.

On Dark Yule, we celebrate not the coming of light, but the Awakening of the Abyss within.

Altar for Dark Yule:

A chalice of salted water (the Ocean of Tiamat).

Figurines of dragons or serpents.

Black candles.

A mirror, laid flat, symbolizing the surface of the Deep.

(To be performed under the First Quarter Moon)

Take a black thread.Wind it around your right hand, binding flesh and will, and speak:

“This is what binds me in the grip of others’ will.”

With a blade, sever the thread — release the shadow’s claim — and declare:

“I am free from foreign influence.My will answers to none.”

Upon a pure sheet of paper, inscribe in gold:Verbum Meum — Lex Est.(My Word is Law.)Beneath it, write:

“My influence grows with the Moon.”

Place this Word upon your image — the Seal of Self.

Set a candle upon it and ignite the flame.Let the fire breathe your voice upward, until only silence answers.

When the flame has finished its witness,wrap the page and your image in black cloth —the Talisman of Voice is born.

Yule this year is a powerful portal where the currents of the solar and lunar cycles merge. The old Sun is dying, and with it the old Moon also dies. The reign of Darkness begins, and the Gates of the Abyss open.

This is the witch’s time. She sees what is hidden and hides her work from profane eyes. She holds the athame and does not fear to use it. She refuses regret and does not fear loss – she cuts all ties with the past without hesitation, knowing that Darkness is the time of transformation, and that the death of the old sun is painful, but necessary.

On the longest night, Darkness demands shadow work from us. One form of this work is the Hunt for Power – the transmutation of inner pain in order to claim one’s own strength. Now is the time to descend into the dark corners of the soul and pull out the pain of despair and betrayal, the fears and the hopelessness – and allow them to die, so that power can grow from their ashes.

YULE RITUAL: BREAKING THE SLAVE SEAL

The energies of this Yule point to the core problem: we have spent too long serving other people’s ideas, feeding other people’s interests, building other people’s temples while forgetting our own. We have been “convenient.” We have been “a resource.” 

Darkness demands that this ends.

On this night, we do not beg the Universe for scraps. We reclaim the Right to our own Power.

What to do:

Awareness: Write down on black paper (or in your notes app) everything that made you feel like a victim of circumstance, a slave to duty, or emotional service staff for others. Recall moments of humiliation and powerlessness. Do not fear this pain – it is fuel.

Destruction: Burn this list in the flame of a black candle with a clear intention: “I, (Name), sever the slave contract. I am no longer food. I am the Eater.”

Action: Take your athame (or a knife, or simply a mental blade) and “cut” the invisible cords connecting you to those who use you. Feel the walls of your inner prison collapsing.

This Yule is not about the tree. This Yule is about freedom gained through revolt.

4. SEAL AND CARRY

Abyss Water

Abyss Water is not a shallow current, but a dense, heavy, icy force from the underground oceans of Satariel. Drop by drop, it erodes the sephirotic granite of the matrix and fills the hidden caves and tunnels of the Qliphoth.

Its nature is attraction and total absorption. The Gates of Satariel, the Black Madonna, are not merely an unusual force, but a power that holds the orbits in place and governs their motion.

This is not just intensity — it is a deep, predatory magnetism in which conjunction and hierarchical closeness reaches its ultimate, absolute point.

On this Yule eve, in the longest night of the year, we do not pray for dawn to hasten. We stare into the Night's Shadow and plunge into the strata of the Primordial Abyss — subterranean ocean waters where Darkness claims absolute dominion.

Take the chalice of salted water.

O Tiamat, Eldest Goddess, Dragon of Chaos, Salt Water of the Abyss, Mother of Monsters — 

Sanctify this water and infuse it with Your primal force.

Pour water onto the mirror.

Open Your portal, O Tiamat. Let this mirror become Your gateway, as tonight You birth the Antibodies of Creation — those who shatter rigid dogmas, avenge the slaying of the Primordial Source (Apsu), and restore the world's wild, raging freedom.

Set down the chalice. Place candle on the mirror.

Let the candle's flame light the path for Your children — those who come to devour the old year's rot and clear space for New Life.

I seek no light for warmth. I seek no Darkness for sight. 

I invoke You, Mother Tiamat: wash me in Your salty waters, scour away my human frailty, and empower me and all Your Dragon Children.

So it shall be.

Sprinkle yourself with water from the chalice.
