”Allright, sit down and let’s get started.”
Qish was a healer who wanted to constantly improve his ways of treating his patients. He had a modern medical training from his time as a military owned healer mage, but he had introduced some aspects of traditional healing to his ways. As he improved his skills, he also improved the old ways by modernizing them. Today he wanted to try a new treatment he had been working on for a while already, and he had the perfect test patient for it.
”If you mess something up, I will come and haunt you.” Said Aqeta, already sitting on the floor. He had his legs crossed and his hoodie on his lap as a comfy pile, and to be honest, he had no expectations for this experiment. Feeling different things emotion wise was still difficult for him, even if Qish had managed to improve his core health.
After the military officials of Nortreach had messed up his core, it was Qish who had slowly started to fix it. It was a slow process, as dealing with fragile and damaged core was still challenging for the young mage. Aqeta’s core also needed time to adjust and recover from even the smallest changes.
”Oh I know, but don’t worry, you won’t die from this. This is a soft treatment to balance your core energy without disturbing your core itself.” Qish was talking as he placed a little wooden box on the floor next to Aqeta. He picked some of his acupuncture needles from there and walked around his patient. He pressed few pressure points with his fingers, planning the right way to start.
”What I’m going to do, is open some locks that are blocking your energy flow. As you know, the core is present everywhere in the being’s physical body by it’s energy flow, and sometimes that flow is disturbed. And you, my friend, are one pile of stress, knots, blocks and dams and whatever. So take a deep breath now.”
Aqeta did just as he was told, but the first needle on his skin still stung nastily. The needle didn’t go into his physical pressure point only, but right to his core’s energy flow too.
”You’re doing some of your own shit here.” He commented, flinching a bit as Qish continued placing more needles.
”Yes. I’m combining my core magic and traditional acupuncture. The needles are like a channel for me to get in touch with your core energy from a distance. So it might feel a bit weird…” The healer explained as he continued his task, and right after him his patient had a sharp inhale from pain.
”Yeah I know it hurts, but try your best to tolerate it.” Qish noted with a bit of apologetic tone. A bit only. He was genuinely interested to try this new method. ”Now close your eyes.”
”It’s not straight out pain. It’s.. weird..” Aqeta mumbled as he did as he was told. He felt a sting right between his eyes, and knew there was a tiny needle there now.
”It’s more like, hmm.. Electric, warm, some kind of pulling. Aching. Ya know, the weird core ache that you can’t describe where it comes from. It’s everywhere in your body, but it clearly is not from any muscle, joint, bone, or any other physical thing. It’s like that, but centered around the needles.”
Qish nodded as he listened Aqetas explanation. So far seemed good. He was already able to sense his friends core energy’s presence through the needles. It was not a healthy flow, and he would have lots of work to do.
In the end, Aqeta looked like a porcupine with so much acupuncture needles on him. Qish’s new experiment was partly successfull, but there was some side effects. With the needles placing, length of the session, his magic and the core energy flow’s handling all being present, he somehow managed to make Aqeta fall asleep in the middle of the session. And he slept right through the day, the night, and woke up on the evening of the next day, saying he barely remembered the acupuncture therapy. Some adjustments still needed to be done it seems!
