If gem!Rai is female-presenting, that would make the whole ‘takes ten years to notice he’s dotingly in love* thing make additional sense - my headcanon is that Franken is gay because he only evaluates males in terms of their attractiveness to a partner - never females, and he’s bantered with more than one female opponent. He just never considered that a romantic relationship with a woman might happen even while he was bustling about homemaking.

Homosexual panromantic? Loves Rai, but not physically attracted to a female-presenting Rai. (or we could just have Franken as well as Rai be female-presenting and still homosexual because adding more lesbians to SU is the opposite of a problem, but). 

I’d say Franken’s worries about not being physically attracted to Rai and worrying that might hurt her might tie into why they fuse so often (it’s an experience of being physically one that he does desire to have with her), but if he is medieval European (if the phrase was ‘Rai has been this way for a thousand years’ instead of they were together that long) then a lack of sex and lust in a loving relationship is kind of the opposite of a problem? Agape. 

While they both have self-worth issues, they both think the other is absolutely wonderful, and being with them is worth everything, (what matters is that we are together again) so the fusion would certainly have a very healthy ego. When Frankenstein and Rai are together, they like to drink tea and be at peace, so the fusion is generally very calm and content/happy. They both love looking after people and co-parenting (Rai just lacks skills), so the fusion is very motherly and like probably provides M-21 and the others with all of the hugs. I think she’s more social than either of them singly - Rai is likely unsure of how to social and covers it up with elegance while Franken is worried the people he becomes close to might get hurt so while he certainly can talk...

They both want the other to be happy/do things that make them happy, so I can see them splitting apart during school hours so Rai can learn and Franken can take care of the school, and then re-fusing and smiling because ‘tell me about your day.’

...and, of course, will smite you.

Raizel’s power level, with more soul or equivalent to draw on and actual skills. Frankenstein is very good at tactics and combat while Rai’d drop dead if he trained.
