We don't have a definitive yes or no answer for this, as this is something per player and not as a server as a whole. We have some players who like it, some who don't and some that have no idea what it is! However, DreamSMP isn't activly spoken or discussed about in our chats if that is what you are more meaning, it is a very rare occurance if it is.
Do you have a general idea when the server reset will happen? Like middle of next year? End of next year?
Because of the new updates, we were originally going to reset the server entirely (world, jobs, money wise) with our update to 1.18 to take full advantage of the new terrain generation. Which, given plugin updates after a new version release, would be roughly march?
However, it is currently a debate amoung the server whether to wait until 1.19 with the new biome terrain generation aswell, otherwise we'd be resetting the server twice within, say, 6 months, which is a waste of progress of bases.
So, Currently, our goal is with the update in 1.18 (March approximetly), but this can change as we are discussing what to do.
I don’t really know how servers work-but when 1.18 rolls around, would it be possible to creat a new 1.18 survival world while keeping the 1.16 world? So we don’t have to say goodbye to it all? Plus, I have a big project in mind to build and I don’t want to build it and have it get deleted when the update comes.

It would be extremely difficult for us to keep up both the existing 1.16 survival map and the new 1.18 survival map. It would essentially be double the load for the server to carry, which would result in a lot of lag and potentially game-breaking issues occurring.
HOWEVER, no matter what the 1.16 survival map will be saved and we will do whatever we can to offer a download of said map to all of our players. We are considering offering saving certain builds to be transferred over to the new world with the use of Schematics, but this offer is not at all set in stone and would also take a lot of extra work. Schematics also aren't fool proof, so there is the potential that saved builds could become corrupted.
If it helps, we will not be updating to 1.18 until mid/late 2022!

Do you plan un updating the server to 1.17?
We do! however we need to wait for all of our plugins to update to 1.17, which can take anywhere from 1 week to a couple months. This is all down to the plugin creators, not us sadly. We are very much looking forward to playing 1.17 on our server, but not just yet. Also, when we update to 1.17, we will NOT be reset until after the terrain generation update (as that will break the world we have currently, but also allow people to play on the world for longer without fretting._
hey so i was wondering if i were to use any ver of 1.16 would it work? like .5 or .3, cause i wanna join but i just gotta know if i have to install optifine for .4 or not

I just double-checked, you are able to join the server if you use 1.16.5 and 1.16.4 but not 1.16.3!
please tell me you guys have poc mods if you're going to advertise your server as poc friendly
Thanks for your question. The reason why we have included “POC Friendly” in our description is because we understand that racism is a massive issue when it comes to the majority of Minecraft servers, along with hatred/bigotry towards the LGBTQ+ community, and severe abelism. We want to make it clear that everyone is welcome on our server so long as they are not there to cause harm. Right now, we have 6 members of staff. 3 Admins, and 3 Moderators, none of which are POC. These people did not go through a hiring process. We started QuartzCraft 2 years ago as a group of friends, and we have known each other longer than that. A persons race and/or culture is never a factor when it comes to hiring staff for our server, and it never will be. The only thing we look at when hiring is moderating capability and the answers given to the hypothetical crisis situations listed on our application sheet. So, in the future, there very well could be POC moderating on QuartzCraft. Again, our goal is to be a welcoming and safe server where people can be themselves without fear of being rejected, critisied, or abused. We know that there are some conversations we cannot head, and we absolutely embrace our playerbase telling us when we’ve made a mistake, so if you feel like we could be doing something better (especially on this topic) please do not hesitate to say so.
