iβm home!
from QC.Β
this will be super short
I got back (got to a nearby station and was picked up by my housemate at 11:40pm ish) and we raced to a woolies to get something to eat (I hadnβt eaten since 1pm).
I just got in and unpacked my backpack and the toiletries from my overnight bag -- iβll do the rest later.
QC was a wonderful time. I met some amazing people - especially amazing trans people (and yay cool trans women !!) but it was very draining on my mental health to the point of nearly breaking my mental health entirely. There are some self-harm and suicide triggers when I discuss this more fully.Β It was an amazing and transformative experience once more.Β
It was great to be in a space where I could use the bathroom without fear of harassment and not worry about being misgendered around the conference.
There was also a lot of stress around a lot of different things.Β
Thanks to all the cool queers I met at QC :D I love you all.
I am a flower, Please don't pluck me from the ground, Before i can bloom.
I'm pretty depressed about not being able to go to Queer Collaborations. Like when is it going to be in Canberra again? Years! I missed my chance. Also I could have met fellow disabled queers and talked about queerphobia in medicine Stupid chronic pain ruining my entire life
Good news everybody! I'm awake! ... and missed the disability caucus haha oops. Annnnnd now fb messaging a friend to maybe have lunch with them :)

At qc and it's been good but so so tiring. There was a party for querelle launch this year and i came home after a full day at conference... and didn't manage to get up again after lying down i was exhausted Apparently conference schedules are /also/ for non mentally ill ppl
An actual conversation i ... Had ... tonight. : a person at qc who presents really androgynously and is non-binary : -- ((context, it was the TIG / Trans, intersex, genderqueer caucus and that's pretty shit so it was voted on to change it to tisgd - Trans, intersex, sex and gender diverse caucus). "I'm pretty peeved that the trans was kept in the name of the caucus. Like not everyone uses the trans label and does trans have to be in front of everything? And isn't trans covered by sex and gender diverse like come on." Me: "umm maybe it's important to acknowledge the struggle of people who are trans even if not using the shit trans 'umbrella'." What i didn't say but wanted to: Like maybe trans people are more visible than non binary people but trans women face the most violence of any other queer identity and trans women of colour a large proportion of that violence? Let's not erase the fact that trans women especially were an important part of stonewall and the start of the modern western queer rights movement by subsuming them in yet another umbrella? Let's make it obvious for young trans and questioning folk that this caucus is for them.
