said: He has been looking at the photograph that Danny had gifted him, gears turning in his mind as he leans on what seems like an old chest, waiting for the ghost to come in. He gets to preparing the usual hot cocoa for the boy when he comes in, but not before motioning to the big chest at the floor by the bar counter, near the wall. "I wanted you to show you something" Grillby sighs, having gathered a few items from his past that Danny would probably like to see.

          Danny had been feeling unusually hopeful lately, as if he had something to look forward to. Though, there wasn’t any concrete goal or event to which he could attribute the feeling. It was a contrast to his standard doom and gloom, and for once he wasn’t wracking his brain trying to figure out why he felt the way he did. He simply allowed himself to be happy. He knew that the ache of melancholic paranoia would come back eventually, so he decided to ride this high for as long as he could without question.

          He was excited to visit Grillby’s that evening. The presence of the old soul provided more than one kind of warmth, and Danny knew Grillby would be happy to see him happy. It was a self-perpetuating cycle of comfort and friendship tat Danny had grown to rely on.

          Images of seas of cocoa and marshmallow boats floated through Danny’s mind as he phased through the front doors of Snowdin’s most popular pub. Curiosity overtook the young ghost’s features as Grillby forewent his usual greeting in favor of bringing a large chest to Danny’s attention.

          The unfamiliar excitement stirred in Danny’s belly as his mind began producing possible ideas of what the contents of the chest could be. Danny’s legs transformed into a single spectral tendril as he floated over to the counter of the bar and flew around the chest in a fluid corkscrew motion. His eyes were wide with anticipation as he sized up the vessel. He looked up to Grillby with a smile, all of his remaining adolescent innocence reflected in his eyes.
