“Liberty is dead and you are the killer. Do you feel any shred of regret?” Pyri’s lip curled upwards, her almond shaped eyes steady with hatred.
Katya Hawthorne was silent. For a moment, Pyri thought she had gotten through to the older woman until she began to chuckle. “I haven’t felt a shred of regret in thirty years. I’m not about to start now.”
“There’s a first time for everything,” Pyri hissed back, leaning forward across the meeting table, hand curled around her untouched glass of gin. “I am the revolution of this country and if I am the only person standing in your way, then I will be glad to stand alone.”
