OH! oh. I forgot I had a real question bc I was so surprised by who the OP was. ANyway. What's the sizing for your games and characters? I'm making my own otome and that's one thing I have trouble with-- the ingame sizing. Right now my game is 1024x768 which I like-- but I'm not really sure what to size the characters inside of that. Any suggestions?
it depends on how you want the character spirtes to be (like in clannad the sprites are pretty close bust shots, a lot of games usually do knees/thighs up) you can draw the characters whatever size you want but they should be resized to fit the screen, in your case no taller than 768px, and they should probably be big enough so they arent covered with the text box
my biggest sprite is alex’s at 488x768, clovers the shortest at 449x559,
i THINK there is a way to resize sprites in ren’py itself in but i dont know how to do it
