when I use the phrase 'my boyyysss ✨💕🥺😔🥰💕✨' i am almost invariably talking about either mcdrai or Orestes and Pylades, which i feel is an apt summary of the strange and deranged thing my inner world is.
Genuinely what's his problem with her even.
Tumblr, you need to see this
Tom Hiddleston wrote a thesis about the "Not to me. Not if it's you" guy. from Euripides' Orestes.

Orestes tells Pylades to marry his sister—knowing he himself could not be a husband for him. He himself was too sick in mind, and did not want Pylades to deal with him forever.
"I'll take care of you", Pylades said in the beginning. "I'll seek to you"—another version of the story. Everytime, no matter what version, Orestes warns him that it is rotten work. "It is annoying to care for a sick man", his words are as self-deprecating as much as it is a warning. When reading these lines, I can almost see Pylades' face scrunch up in defiance, or maybe soften with pity. "I'll do it." He says, because it isn't rotten work to him, never to him, not if it's his Orestes.
I could only imagine the stone in his chest when Orestes asks in Tauris for him to go and live. To take care of his sister and forget about him. I can only imagine the tears he held back while stubbornly staying. If one died, they wouldn't die alone.
(This isn't my best work lol (๑¯◡¯๑))
