RULES & REGULATIONS

Section I. Blacklisted Material

The following subjects, tropes, and character profiles are strictly prohibited from entering the collection. Any acquisition requests containing these elements will be immediately processed through the department shredder.

Sub-Section 1A > The Irredeemable Monster

Characters who are flat-out horrible with zero redeeming qualities. If a subject’s narrative lacks remorse, internal conflict, or a capacity for profound devotion, their file will be burned. We archive complex tragedy, not basic villainy.

Sub-Section 1B > Abusers & Predators

Any character whose actions involve genuine, malicious abuse, unprovoked cruelty, or predatory behavior toward vulnerable individuals. These entries present an immediate hazard to the safety of our patrons and staff.

Sub-Section 1C > The Relentless Sadist

Subjects who derive pure, unbothered pleasure from destruction without a single counterbalancing trace of humanity, loyalty, or tragic vulnerability.

Section II. Mandatory Inclusivity Directive

Classification: Equal Opportunity Yearning

The Longing Department operates under a strict, non-discriminatory procurement policy. Fictional masculinity is not a monolith. The Office of Acquisitions & Requests actively welcomes and reviews dossiers for exceptional men across all spectrums of identity, including but not limited to:

Sub-Section 2A > Queer & Diverse Orientations

Men who love men, bisexual rogues, asexual scholars, and any male-identifying figures whose pining transcends traditional boundaries.

Sub-Section 2B > Trans & Non-Binary Spectrum Men

Transgender men, masculine-aligned entities, and complex male figures whose identities challenge or expand traditional binary definitions.

Sub-Section 2C > Non-Human & Speculative Entities

Ethereal elves, brooding vampires, cosmic deities, and otherworldly figures who present as men or navigate their narratives through a masculine lens.

If a male-identifying or masculine-aligned character possesses the necessary metrics for dramatic pining, aesthetic brilliance, or tragic narrative depth, their file belongs in our open stacks.

Section III. Public Decorum & Debate Restraints

Classification: Patron Code of Conduct

The Longing Department is a sanctuary for quiet research, pining, and mutual appreciation. The comment sections, reblog chains, and reading tables must remain civil. The Office of the Director enforces a strict Zero-Tolerance Policy for Violence and Harassment.

Sub-Section 3A > Disciplinary Shunning

Any form of hate speech, targeted harassment, aggressive infighting, or threats of violence toward fellow patrons will result in an immediate, permanent ban. Your library card will be revoked and your digital footprint permanently blocked from the stacks.

Sub-Section 3B > Constructive Discourse Only

Healthy debate regarding character dossiers, narrative tropes, or moral alignment is permitted. However, venomous arguments, ship wars, and personal attacks against other users are strictly prohibited.

Sub-Section 3C > Reporting Hazards

If you observe a patron violating these safety regulations or bringing hostility into the archives, report the incident to The Curator immediately via private memo.
