FRAGMENTS.

This is the first full length album from pwtf. It includes very bouncy synthesizers, lots of orchestral elements and a chilled out "end of day" feeling.

Brett:

So I wanted to build an album that sort of felt in-between two other projects, but was still its own story. I started with "Dawn Mauve", that was actually the first track I ever wrote/composed for the album with "Organic" being the second. I think you can kind of tell as the songs get deeper and more texture gets added along the way. "Dawn Mauve" was intentionally pretty barebones because I wanted it to be the opener of this story, sort of an elevator feeling when you step in and it's just a simple little melody played over and over, but as the elevator goes up and up it takes you on this journey you didn't expect. The songs I composed for this were based purely off my emotions at the time and whether or not that's how they're interpreted it's clear to me how I feel when I made them and the memories they bring now.

I wanted to make more than 10 songs but I knew I needed to get this album finished in early 2017 and by the end of the 6th month of just being drowned in small compositions here and there I put the whole album together and ended up on an even 10. I could have pushed for more but I knew that the passion and emotion I was pouring into this thing began to drain me completely and in the end I'd lost inspiration and motivation to keep making tracks. Which in a way is a good thing because it meant I didn't just drop a bunch of tracks into this thing that didn't mean anything personal to me, unlike how each of these tracks do.

Every song on this album represents a part of my life in 2016. It was a rough year for everyone but in the end I believe translating my life into music gave me the ability to stay on top of it all.
