How is intimate heterosexuality sexist?

It’s within the framework of ambivalent sexism (the framework I’ve been using for my essay series). So it’s not like, the amorphous concept of an intimate heterosexual relationship. It’s a subcomponent of benevolent sexism: “Intimate heterosexuality (BS) romanticizes women as having sexual purity and views romantic intimacy as necessary to complete a man.” (x)

Oh no, no, Miodrag Zarković is absolutely brilliant. I recommend that you read his episode reviews from this year (the archive by month on the left sidebar is probably easiest). I can’t really speak to specifics of Dethroned, because I’m not intimately involved with its production, but I can say that I give it a GoTg&m Headnod of Approval™, which should be worth at least two of Olly’s, right?

Fanservice, plain and simple. It reminds me of the “what-if” threads on westeros.org, which are kind of fun to think about but, but mostly useless in terms of telling the story or understanding it.

Would that it were the case (however hamfisted it is, at least it’s showing Arya’s vague resistance to the ‘I am nobody’ shtick and her Stark-ness), but Lanna is a name taken from the Cat of the Canals chapter. She’s a prostitute at the Happy Port, and many have actually theorized that she’s Tyrion’s daughter by Tyhsa.

Exhibit A for why Wikipedia and the dictionary are not always the best places to look when deciding what terms to use.   Continue to research and come to your own conclusions about whether or not you feel comfortable using those terms!

I can't tell you if it's "okay" or not or "wrong" or not to cosplay as Pocahontas or any other character because this tumblr blog is not intended to be anybody's personal permission-granting "____ friend"   (As in, "but my friend is ___ and she gave me the okay!")

There's some more information on this under the cosplay tag, but to be brief:   There is no objective answer as to whether or not it's wrong for a white person to cosplay a person of color--it always depends on context and who you are asking.    

That being said, many people find white people dressing up in (what is purportedly) "Native American clothes" to be offensive and a form of cultural appropriation, and many people think Pocahontas is a deeply racist and problematic movie.   You can of course continue to believe your beliefs, but please don't act surprised if anyone challenges them.
