Vladimir Putin met with several families from the Irkutsk region who had been affected by the floods and were staying at the Dagomys recreation center in Sochi.

At the Saviour Transfiguration Monastery of Valaam, Vladimir Putin took part in a Sunday service conducted by Bishop Pankraty of Troitsk. After the service, the Prime Minister visited the Skete of Prophet Elijah located on the Island of Lembos. He took a boat to cover the 10 kilometres from the monastery to the skete. The largest wooden temple on Valaam erected in honour of Holy Prophet Elijah in 1867−1868, burned down 100 years later in 1967. The skete was restored at Vladimir Putin’s initiative and with his support.

During a working trip to the Belgorod Region, Vladimir Putin inspected the building of a new city school and met with members of a student construction team. 40 construction brigade students are working on the construction of a secondary school in a new residential district in Belgorod. They are carrying out finishing work and landscaping and greening the area. Construction of the school began in November 2016 and will be completed by November 1, 2017. The school will have two swimming pools, information centers, libraries, an auditorium, and language laboratories. The number of student construction teams in the Belgorod region exceeds 1,500. Recently, student construction teams have participated in the construction of the Crimean Bridge's railway infrastructure, the Vostochny Cosmodrome, the M-11 federal highway, the Leningradskaya NPP-2, and the Belorusskaya NPP.

Vladimir Putin inspected the building of a secondary school under construction in Belgorod and met with members of a student construction team. The President then visited the Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant, where he familiarized himself with the production process, observed the launch of a new workshop, and interacted with the plant's workforce. He also held a working meeting with the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Yevgeny Savchenko.
