By now, he should know well that anons tend to be liars; he went through a whole mess with people before just because of them. Letting his emotions get the better of him won’t solve anything. He sunk lower into his jacket, remaining deathly silent and trying to regulate his breathing.

🏝 LONELY

Sly can fare well on his own, although he doesn’t prefer it. The skeleton’s job of sentry usually means he gets interesting faces that pass by; the best part of the job is being able to interact with the other monsters while still doing his job and being just as social as he wanted. The only real plus for him when he switched out of science was the ability to be just as talkative or just as lonesome as he wanted.

There’s times where he simply wants to be lonely; given time to reflect. He tends to push others away during these times and not be as enthusiastic, although he never outright tells them he wants to be left alone- it’d come off rude and... weird from him.

🌦 LONGING

Sly doesn’t handle longing for anything well. It makes him anxious when he’s hoping for a certain outcome, or for a certain person, and the more he wants it and craves it, the more anxious and paranoid he tends to get. He usually ends up waiting for whatever it is to come to him- or for him to come once the feelings don’t persist. To him, it’s not healthy to desire anything, especially if it takes the opposite turn. It would be better to leave those emotions behind at the door. 

☘ HOPEFUL

Getting him genuinely hopeful can be a challenge- and when he is, he becomes quieter, softer, and fiddles with his sleeves and folds in on himself. When things seem to be going well, he wants to avoid ruining them, even though he hardly ever has- just as a precaution, just as a way to be sure that yes, this will stay, and yes, it’s all going well. 

If asked about it though, he can be prone to rambling on about how things are going well- he cracks more jokes, he goes out of the house and out from his jobs more often, and he tries to be more active in different communities and social lives. It’s the Sly he wants to be- friendly, but not to an extreme, and overly gentle and extremely easy to please.

🌞 HAPPY

When excited, he’s all of a sudden energetic; he finds himself unable to stop (although he never does anything that’s usually useful; you won’t find him cleaning anytime soon). He constantly wants to share that mood with others, be it through good food or jokes or whatever else he can come up with. He becomes far more affectionate and more upright with his needs and his wants. The happiest moments Sly’s had are ones where he’s reached some sort of success, or had been with company he loved; he’s more likely to be silly and drop his guard near entirely and craves to pull others in to dance with him.

tldr; he should be happier more often. he’s a coot

❌ JEALOUS

Sly is guilty of getting jealous easily over those he has deep relationships with. Sly doesn’t usually try to branch out and share himself that much to many people, and with those he does, he can become possessive if he becomes neglected for too long. He doesn’t like that he is, but a paranoid voice tells him that if he doesn’t get constant attention, that they hate him, and he further isolates and becomes colder and colder until he eventually shuts off near any communication besides making sure the loved one is still safe and content with however their life is going without him.

It’s been so long since he’s seen his boyfriend- he swore it’s been years and years (although he did not trust himself; it couldn’t have been, likely just an hour). Feeling abnormally content and carefree, he couldn’t help but want to share his excitement and good mood with his lover and hoped he’d be home- and the second he caught the glimpse of purple, he practically hurled himself on the poor skeleton.

“Glace!” Excited enough, his poor voice cracked, although he paid no attention. “I knew it- I’m no interior designer, but I know you make every room beautiful!”

He’d been reading a lot of cheesy romances thanks to Glace.

Everything had been going smoothly for him, bike settled against the brick of the local bakery as he stumbled in- all he had wanted was a simple loaf of bread to go with dinner for the night. Hands shoved in his pockets, he stared intensely at the selections, eyebrows scrunched together, before reaching out for one deemed right, and-

...Someone else’s hand settled on top of his. The Italian representative screeched at the touch, hand reeling back and staring at the other. 

It shouldn’t have startled him, but the stranger definitely looked weird. Rubbing his arms, Romano stared- longer and longer. He could certainly tell- as a natural sort of thing- that this person didn’t belong to his own country. With an awkward motion, he rubbed his arm and snatched up the loaf of bread.

...Would English be his best bet? Italian? He tried to slap an awkward smile on his face, flushed and taken aback from how he had reacted. Jeesh. So much for a proper warm welcome for a visitor.
