Yes yes I LOVE angst !! Typically with a happy ending… almost every angsty things I think of/write has some sort of happy ending. I just think that even if the world can be cruel, it’s more satisfying for everything a character has been through to pay off !

I don’t have a whole lot to yap about today! Just some touch ups! But yeah, the theme of people leaving Keith … hence the abandonment issues … I love making it strong. Of course starting with his mother ! As you said, he was probably told that she loved him and that she just had to leave. Doubt he believed that once he was an angry, grieving teen. Then his father left him, too. People keep leaving, and it’s of course out of his control, but I feel like he definitely still finds a way to blame himself.

He was then of course put in foster care, which is its own whole thing of people giving him hope and then giving him up… but that does imply that there was nobody next of kin to take him in! Now I feel like his father reads as an only child? So I don’t think Keith would have any aunts or uncles, but I feel like he’d obviously have grandparents. I’m thinking maybe one of them died, and the other was probably put in a nursing home, so really neither of them could take him in, but to him? That still probably felt like abandonment, and the pattern continuing. Especially if he believed his mom died. (And if there's a reason I'm still alive, when everyone who loves me has died… I’m willing to wait for it 🥹)

And yes I’ve seen Heath!! It’s def a better name and kinda cute cause … Krolia … Heath … Keath … their son’s name is practically their ship name !! But the only issue with Heath is that when I hear/see it I think of Heith 😭 which don’t get me wrong ! As a multishipper I quite like Heith. It’s just a bit distracting and funny to think about !

Ooo! Yeah again to clarify I have nothing against Korean Keith headcanons !! I think they’re fun, and again, I don’t think it entirely matters as long as he’s being portrayed as Asian ! (Technically it’s not canon so ig he could be a rouge white boy… but him being in the Dreamworks AAPI heritage month video … again it just feels wrong to NOT have him be Asian at all)

And YES!! Broganes with Keith seeing Shiro as a father … ough . The clothing detail is one of my favorite things . People with dead loved ones typically gravitate towards their clothes since they still smell like them and everything… so for Keith to be willing to give up his father’s clothes for Shiro … that’s so important to me . And yes!! Shiro listening to the same music as Keith’s dad . I just think he’d have a lot of similarities . He taught Keith cool risky tricks on a hovercraft thing ?? Similar vibes to my Keith’s dad just giving him a gun . (You should 100% make that fanfic scene trust trust…)

I also definitely feel like Keith accidentally called Shiro “dad” at least once . And then got super embarrassed . I also love the idea that since the Garrison functioned somewhat like a normal school, they maybe had a home ec class where they made kids make Father’s Day/Mother’s Day cards for a grade … and Keith made one for Shiro . He played it off as a “it doesn’t mean anything it’s just bc I don’t have anybody and I’m being forced to do this” but Shiro kept it and put it on the fridge in his apartment . Cried over it once maybe .

The lion thing reminds me of a post/fanart I saw once!! I tried to dig through my reposts for it but couldn’t find it 🥹 it was essentially the whole thing with Keith’s dad dying to fire and Keith flying the lion linked to fire … alongside another parallel with Keith flying the black lion, linked heavily to space more so than the other lions, which took Shiro from him twice … ough . It was fire . (Literally. Haha . Sorry.)

I think that’s all? I have more for later!! But I just wanted to reply to everything you said !! I appreciate you taking the time to reply to my massive asks!! Seeing the true size of mine was ,, woah . I think this one’s shorter though!! Hopefully…

hiii. Same here, although I'm pretty sure most of my earliest writing and stories all had horrific endings. Uh. 👍.

That's a good way to explain it. The way I have, in my head, is that his father never let his family meet Keith, because then they would ask about his mother, and might even notice that something is wrong and not human about his child. And maybe they just had a somewhat strained relationship (also he didn't tell them he had a kid with a literal alien, for good reason. And by then it would just be awkward). Then, they weren't asked to take care of him, because his dad didn't get any documents done, so legally speaking, Keith doesn't really exist and the authorities aren't aware of his living in the shack.

He might have forged a couple things to get Keith into school, and that was a bit of a mess, and in the future, foster homes and orphanages had a lot of trouble with him, having to finally try make those documents and assuming he came from some terrible home. That's enough of a hassle that they don't end up really looking for any of his relatives, after asking him, and him answering that there was only his dad. Who is obviously dead.

I was thinking the same thing about Heith/Heath while writing out the response, but forgot to say 😭. Along with the fact that I once read a fanfic where Keith listened to Ed Sheeran, full blast. (Give him a shirt that says rogue white boy)

Imagine the people that would come to clear out Shiro's stuff, after he's been declared dead long enough. And them just finding that card, stuck to the fridge and slightly dusty at the corner that got bent. Them having to throw it out. Saying something about not knowing Takashi Shirogane had any kids. Just. ☹️.

I saw that, too. Scrolled for half an hour trying to find it just now, but it's like it vanished. It's good tho, evokes emotion. And ofc! It took a bit of time, but I hate ignoring people.

The Mice (sorry not sorry) and Zarkon (was kinda boring in canon)

Honerva could have been so much more.

I have some Galra and random character headcanons, but I think that'll go in a sperate post cause this is getting too long.
