â What does their bedroom look like?
Viper keeps xir room dark, decorated in variations of blacks and purples with the occasional goldânot the bright, artificial-looking gold, but the metallic, old goldâornaments. The design was slightly Gothic, but not flashy. Â
More details and possibly a drawing will be made in a separate post in the short future.
For now, think of his room giving off the same vibes as Ravenâs from Teen Titans.
â Favorite beverage?
It is no secret that Viper enjoys xir strawberry milk. While xe doesnât make a point to exclaim it to the world, Viper often picks it when xe has the option to, only occasionally choosing to forego the strawberry milk in favor of something less sweet. Xe also opts for another drink when xe has appearances to maintain.
It isnât as though everyone around him knows that xe likes strawberry milk; however, strawberry milk is something Viper tends to have stocked in the mini-fridge. Itâs one of those things that one would catch Viper putting in xir shopping cart when stopping by for groceries or snacks. Xe doesnât go out of xir way to find some, but when itâs convenient xe might stop by a shop to order himself a drink to carry around with him.
Skull is very familiar with each of the Arcobalenoâs preferred drinks, and xe is very familiar with the fact that Viper likes strawberry milk. Viper isnât the only one; xe and Skull have bonded over their predilection for strawberry milk, and it is possible, on occasion, that Viper may be in a good mood when someone brings him some.
â What do they think about before falling asleep at night?
Viper will routinely check xir stocks and investments before bed, so business opportunities is a common topic for him to muse over. In reality, those ideas are rarely xir last before xe drifts off to sleep.
While cursed with xir infant body, Mammon commonly reflected on xir past and the prospective future, meaning xe was interested in trying to free himself from the accursed body. Xe didnât really regret the decisions xe made throughout xir life that lead to that point, but xe often found himself chiding himself for falling into Checkerfaceâs traps.
Once the curse was broken, Viperâs thoughts were no longer so self-deprecating over a little mistake that the entirety of the Arcobaleno had made. Sometimes Viper would find himself thinking about the goals xe wanted to accomplish in the future. Xe muses over the things xe could do to make himself a stronger illusionist, especially given that Rokudo Mukuro was a threat to xir status. On occasion, xe would find himself weaving short stories, using illusions to act it out on the ceiling, but this only happens when xe canât sleep and xir mind is restless. There are other times when xe manages to quiet xir thoughts before bed, and xe just thinks about nothing until xe drifts off to sleep.
â Most prized possession?
Toilet paper.
Viper is the epitome of greed. There are not many things that Viper would not be willing to pawn, given the right price. Something of more value simply has a set price that Viper has decided upon that must be met for him to even consider an offer, but negotiations may be made.
That being said, what Viper values tends to be something that generally has no values, the epitome of the folly of greed: Beanie Babies.
The collection is not one of Viperâs best decisions in life; like many others, xe fell victim to the promise of their value increasing over time. How wrong xe was.
Secretly, Viper does enjoy the stuffed animals himself, though it is not something xe is willing to admit, as xe feels as though such interest would be girlier than xe is comfortable with, having struggled with gender roles for a good portion of xir life. Xe owns any limited edition and rare Beanie Baby from 1993-1998. Theyâre all locked up in a vault somewhere, and xe keeps them in mint condition. Xir collection isnât stored in xir vault in the Varia mansion, though, simply because it takes up unwanted space and xe is reluctant to expose this folly and interest of xir.
In complete honesty, however, Viper doesnât care all that much about xir Beanie Babies; they donât hold sentimental value, and xe isnât exactly pleased with the reminder of xir mistakes. Theyâre important to him because xe is so reluctant to let all that money go to waste. Xeâs adamant about keeping them, rather than tossing them, until theyâre worth something againâand for the rare ones, xe wants them to reach a certain value.
One could also argue that Viperâs Mist pacifier is also important to him, being an Arcobaleno, as much as xe hated looking at the accursed thing when xe was trapped in xir infant body. It provides him with power and also extends xir life.
â What recharges them when theyâre feeling drained?
Unsurprisingly, xe is an introvert. Being around the lively, rowdy Varia tends to be rather draining. Xir recharging process isnât really unique at all. Viper makes himself tea and retreats to xir room; xe lights some incense and some candles, embracing the comfort of the darkness and echos of the lives of sorcerers. Then xe stretches and curls up on xir bed with a good book, reading under candlelight, flames dancing across the pages. If xe feels like it, xe might put on some soft music, but the silence is actually very comforting, given the noisiness of the Varia mansion.
â Is this person afraid of dying? Why or why not?Â
Yes and no. Growing up in the mafia and being one of the strongest illusionists alive, Viper was always prepared to face death. Xe knew xir profession meant that xe would have to put xir life on the line with every battle, every mission. As an Arcobaleno, especially, xe lived a very dangerous life, where one false move could mean xir death. Xe had to be willing to make a sacrifice and protect things with xir life. Xe had to be wary and skeptical growing up, had to sharpen xir senses so xe wasnât ambushed unaware.
Even if xe was ready to put xir life on the line, even if xe had accepted that xe may die at any given point of time, Viper doesnât want to die; xe will fight for xir life. Admittedly, Viper is terrified of dying.
Xe is very aware of when xe needs to make sacrifices and put xir life on the line, but Viper is reluctant to die for anything less.
Viper enjoys xir life; xe enjoys indulging in xir vices and material possessions. Xe fights to live. Death brings uncertainty. What becomes of him of in the afterlife? Xe knows that xir soul continues to existâheâs seen enough in the Vongola and part of the Arcobaleno to know that xe still exists, somehow, but xe finds it hard to believe that all xir efforts and personal gain doesnât amount to anything. Xe built up xir reputation and name for xir own ego and prideâwhat does that leave him with? A legacy? Sure. But will that mean anything to him after xir death? Xe isnât sure.
Would xir soul undergo punishment for all the vices xe indulged in? Viper had countless sins on xir hands; would xe be punished for them all?
