cant stop thinking about that one scene with Pencil and Needle in BFDIA 23, and how Pencil tells Needle that you CAN get far by pushing others away and trusting no one but yourself, but at the end of the day you’ll end up a lot more miserable if you do that and you’ll be a lot happier if you go through your hardships with other people by your side. I saw a lot of speculation when this episode came out that this was TPOT Pencil talking, and while I don’t necessarily disagree I think there’s a more interesting direction to take this. My TPOT 24 prediction (I haven’t seen it in theaters DONT SPOIL ME) is that Pencil is going to go through BFDI and BFDIA all the way up to this scene and have to give this same speech to Needle while at the same time realizing how much it applies to her, and this will be the START of her change in character.
