pupsbulge yeah actually we mostly share similar vocabulary and mythology but! Since Tahitian migration to Hawaii brought at least 70% of the Hawaiians today that's why our languages r similar and then Hawaiian migration to aotearoa happen. That's why both languages r similar to Hawaiian. Like Hawaiians say our ancestors are from kahiki which could be Tahiti and Maori say their ancestors are from hawaiki which could be Hawai'i just by the similar spelling.

pupsbulge Tahitian sounds like Ni'ihau Hawaiian dialect to me I can understand maybe 70% of Tahitian. Maori is harder but for the most part it's just changing certain letters (same for Tahitian) Like r=l, k=' t=k b=p etc for Hawaiian. "Ao" is cloud "kea" (tea) is the older way to say white in Hawaiian and "loa" (roa) is long. Trippy huh how close Polynesian languages are?

Maori and Tahitian are the closest to Hawaiian like Aotearoa (New zealand) translated into Hawaiian is Aokealoa which is "long white cloud" in english for both Hawaiian and maori. We share v similar vocab.Â

the education system here is soooo stupid and to apply to a public university you have to take all your papers to this place and they wanted all my report cards from grade 1 to grade 12 like who the fuck does that?!! and i forgot to put in the grade 9 report card so it may or may not be complete, like the already have other papers that prove that i went to grade 9. now my mom is blaming me and saying she wont help me if it was rejected and im just sick of this mess
