So I am trying to find other people who might have advice on how to deal with light sensitivity. Mine often triggers migraines, and it's congenital stuff due to a pupil defect (my pupil won constrict correctly in the light, or dilate shortly after leaving my eyes defenceless) whose name Iam unaware of because I got diagnosed as a kid and my mom forgot what it was called.
I can't stand cold, white, and neon lights. I do better with soft warm lights. I have good night vision. I have snow vision and strong afterimage, but my vision acuity only started to get worse in adulthood, and not alarmingly. But I often have to spend any free time I have completely bed bound in a dark room and saying it doesn't bother me would be a lie.
I have no idea what this could be beyond "I am photosensitive because of a pupil defect. My doctor said it's uncommon and even more so for me because I have brown eyes. She said the only treatment was to wear sunglasses but it was also 2007 so I don't know if there been any updates since."
Google and Reddit have not been helpful, and without knowing similar cases I nees to figure everything out by myself which is difficult. So if this rings a bell for anyone please DM me or comment below because I'd be interested to talk.
