SARASWATI PUJA & ODIA BHOJI . . Saraswati puja is one of my favourite Hindu festivals and extremely close to my heart. As a kid and I think even now, puja at school or home has always been about celebrations and food. Bhoji as we call it in Odia, is a very special part of any puja. The decorations, flower arrangements and puja and bhoji. . Especially Saraswati puja, we use to dress up in yellow or orange and go to school with our books and place them@at goddess Saraswati’s feet and pray for better results in examinations, specially easy questions in mathematics and more intellect and what not. The major attraction would be the sweets and the bhoji afterwards. . . Today I was feeling very nostalgic as my parents and brother are not in town and I am particularly missing the good food, so I cooked up a small fair of bhoji myself. Remembering every details my mom taught me and without using onion and garlic, here’s a sneak peak of my lunch today. . . In the frame: Khechudi with dollops of desi ghee, Ghantaw Tarkari which mixed veg with panch photon tadka, tomato khatta which is my absolute favourite,Baigana bhaja and papad. . .
