The Indian publishing business has received some bad news. Amazon decided to close down Westland, a beloved and renowned publishing house, permanently.

After decades of operation, collaboration and publication of notable works, Westland bit the dust due to unprofitable revenue cycles and dipping sales. However, was closing it down permanently the only way forward? Or have corporations like Amazon become prone to undervaluing artistic businesses.
