1 and 2 for the Snape questions!
1. Your favorite thing about Snape?
It’s impossible to choose just one thing…so, I suppose, I’ll just pick at random from a list of personal favourites of mine:
The finely crafted juxtaposition of this man who possesses such dark and fairly twisted sensibilities but who chooses to do better in spite of them. It doesn’t mean he isn’t still deeply flawed and bitter and nasty, but his unfailing focus on doing The Right Thing™ is such a fascinating facet of him.
He’s such a complicated, many layered character and it confounds me daily how people reduce him to this one-noted “incel who bullied Harry Potter!!1!!1″
2. How old were you when you decided you loved this unwashed man? What’s the story, child?
Eh… *sweats nervously* I was older than most Potterheads, I suppose. I wish I could say I grew up with them but my best friend was the one who broke me down, insisting that I read them a couple years before I finally did. I read the first three books shortly before the first film was released, so it would have been at the beginning of high school for me.
I fell for Snape’s brutal sarcasm almost instantly. There were plenty of moments where he tested my cool and my resolve, but I loved the mystery surrounding him from the get-go. He’s such a snarky, cold bastard and that was a large part of his appeal for me.
