âStop, stop it! Youâre hurting yourself!â
clenched fists tugged  without mercy on dark brown locks,  teeth raking over a  bloodied split lip, hazel eyes  unfocused, mildly absent, lost  deeply in a cascade  of thoughts dripping with the black inks of self-loathing.
 he could not escape  t h i s.
no matter who the  timeless alien clung to, how brave or strong,  they always learnt,  WRONGLY, that he was worth risking death for.
he barely knew the  girl; human, tagging along for the adventure, investigating the impossible. the very picture of innocent, UNTAINTED curiosity.
they a l l came to him with dreams WAITING to be confirmed. their  futures BURNED in their eyes and his mind, and he could NOT help  himself. their potential was intoxicating and he was so very LONELY.
but now she was g o n e and it was his HIS FAULT.
 it was ALWAYS his fault.
he wooed them with the p r o m i s e of the  complexities of the universe; an offer NONE could resist. and like soldiers they valiantly charged into HIS BATTLES.
he was dark and dangerous  again. the ONCOMING storm,  an ageless, b l o o d s t a i n e d  creature TRAPPED within  the dorky limbs of what was  practically a CHILD.
( all this yet he had nothing to lose,       and they had EVERYTHING.       humans with their damned       futures and HOPES.       they had to work SO HARD       just to live and breathe.  )
a frustrated CRY erupted from deep within his chest, and he s l a m m e d his hands down, rushing them across the table top laden with various metallic bits and gear.Â
â  ââ  NO ! no no n o! â Â
he can tell those he swore to   protect THIS day would throw  their f r i g h t e n e d gazes and  settle into their uncomfortable  silences. all save the ONE  who has spoken up in the   midst of his devastated RAGE.
the time lord tossed his body  DOWN, engulfing his face in  work-calloused palms.
â this was never supposed to happen. do you understand? her deaths was not FIXED, i       shouldâve been able to S A V E HER.  â Â
