I have a question, what is an attraction modifier? I have been seeing it quite alot in my search through attraction labels and I tried searching for what it means everywhere and couldn't find a single explanation. And I want to understand better of what it is.
Attraction modifiers apply to types of attraction (such as romantic, queerplatonic, ocellusaffectis, and so on) and describe more specifically how someone experiences that type of attraction. Attraction modifiers do not exist by themselves, but must be paired with a type of attraction (hence 'modifier'!)
An example, and this is totally off the top of my head, would be a term for when one's attraction is experienced through the lens of depression. Applied to sensual attraction, it could mean that their sensual attraction feels like it is heavy and low-energy. Applied to platonic attraction, it could mean that their platonic attraction feels guilty and self-isolating.
They are distinguished from orientations in that they describe what the attraction feels like, rather than who/what the attraction is towards. They are distinguished from allions in that they cannot stand on their own without a form of attraction
... It's kind of a term we& haphazardly threw together as a response to people very regularly misunderstanding fragarian attractions (types of attraction other than romantic and sexual).
