Just not for anything I was supposed to be working on, so I'm bored again lol
I guess I'll put the dumb little thing I made here.
It's just a silly short story, nothing important or anything.
The Raven and The Olm. By @randomcoloredroses.
"Long ago, Ravens and Olms worked together, the ravens used their incredible sight to help the olms find feeding grounds and the olms used their excellent hearing to help the ravens find good sources of nutrition in those feeding grounds.
but some ravens grew bored, and quickly, greed overtook the Raven Council.
ravens began to swoop down, starting drama, and steeling all the sustenance for themselves, completely ignoring the olms and leaving most of them to starve.
They fought for generations, the olms only wished for the ravens to hear them out and resolve things peacefully at first but the ravens refused to hear a word the olms said leaving them no choice but to fight.
the years go by, a grand majority of olms went into hiding while gaining a new member along the way, the ravens moved on to other feeding grounds in secret, also hiding, they also gained a new member but he ran away not long after.
Now, there is a young raven, as she grew up among the ravens she began to detest the life she was expected to live, viewing from afar that runaway raven living his best life away from the ravens fueled her desire to leave, so one year she ran away from home, ravens tried to track her down and force her back home but she kept on the move.
this Raven saw many things and met even more throughout her time on the run, not wanting to leave chaos in her wake she tried to help all who she met, but even with that, she was lonely, she couldn't stay and risk her new friends becoming a target of the other ravens, so she never had any true friends.
One day, while flying low to the ground, she ran into something she never thought she'd ever see, an Olm.
the Olm was terrified to have been found, but quickly realized the Raven was just as, if not more scared of him as he was of her.
"Hey! don't freak out! I'm not going to hurt you." the Olm spoke, "if anything, I was worried you would hurt me."
the Raven stuttered out "I would never!" "I can tell, you almost ran the moment we crossed paths, I could hear you're fear of me" the Olm refused to come any closer to the Raven but could tell something was different about this one.
"With other ravens always on my tail-" she wrapped her wings around herself "-you could be in danger..."
"I already have ravens always on my tail, but I must sustain myself so I must put my life on the line."
"you shouldn't have to.." the Raven started to preach, "if the stronger and higher ravens weren't so greedy and conniving you olms would have never even needed to go into hiding!"
"It sounds like you don't like your own kind." the Olm pointed out. "probably because I don't.." the Raven admitted, moving to sit on a nearby twig.
the Olm moved closer by, asking the Raven to talk for a while.
so the Raven began, about how she had grown up feeling like she never belonged among the ravens, about how she felt raven life was so restrictive and boring, about how no one ever cared for what she said.
"I'm sorry..." She interrupted herself, "we have only just met and I'm dumbing all of my baggage on you..." the Raven hides her face in her wings, "I've just never had anyone to talk to like this before!"
"Hey, don't worry about it," the Olm said with comfort, "I get- Oh!" he seemed to have sense something.
"I think we've been found out..."
The Raven looked up to the sky, a dark form of flapping wings had formed above them, but they haven't been spotted yet, "So we have..." She said solemnly, "I guess it's time for us to go our separate ways then." "I guess so, it was nice meeting you." "You too!" the Raven said with a smile. "I hope we get to cross paths again soon..." "I do too!" the Olm exclaimed. "It's not everyday you get to meet such a kind raven."
And so the two go their own ways.
do they ever meet again? well, that's a story for another time.
If you don't know what an olm is
