And every single day you go to work is a day I fail again and can only pray that you come back alive. Not because I doubt you but because I could never bear it if I lost you too. It would kill me. And I am helpless to stop you from it as I was to stop your father, and *that* is what I resent so much and what infuriates me so.” And that moment just irrevocably shifts his perception of her forever.

"Hey," Dani greets, subtly glancing up and down at Malcolm as if to confirm that he's in one piece. As the two of them walk down a claustrophobic hallway toward the victims, she asks, "Did Gil tell you?" "That we're looking at the result of a probable copycat? Yes." "And you're gonna be able to handle it?" "It's like it's 2019 all over again," Malcolm cheerfully replies.
