[BOOK FUNDRAISER]: Support the publishing of "Charlie & His Imaginary Friend" A Children's Book project in New York, NY by P's & Q's Written by Qimmah Saafir and Pope Phoenix To donate, visit http://kck.st/JI97vP | Website: psnqs.com Four years ago, we sat down in a Barnes & Noble. There was a pile of children's books on our table and we began to thumb through them. It didn't take long before we noticed a common thread throughout the books: Little to no diversity. Both of us have children in our lives. Children of varied hues and colors, with imaginations just as colorful. Children who are rarely represented in the books they are given to enjoy. We discussed how much more inclined to learn lessons and receive messages those children might be, if they were able to find/see/recognize themselves in the books they read. It takes a lot to find a great agent who believes in your story and have them wholeheartedly pitch it to publishing houses. We decided to take matters into our own hands. Charlie and His Imaginary Friend is a book we created about boundless thought and camaraderie. It is the story of a wonderfully adventurous little brown boy and a fun giraffe. It is the first of many stories that we plan to create and share. So many people have already voiced that they want our book. Unfortunately, printing is costly. By donating to our cause, you will help us raise enough money to get our books printed. You will help get our story out into the world and who knows ... perhaps publishing more books that speak to this planet's diverse future will catch on.
