i don't have much advice on the subject mainly because each editor finds their unique and comfortable way of editing, there is no "correct" way to do edits.

i think the biggest advice i can give you is to try different things and take risks! look at edits from other accounts to find inspiration (without plagiarism) and notice how each person makes the edits.

i have always used picsart because its the easiest for me, i advise you to start with that app and look for photos that are good quality and DON'T have backlighting.

it also helps me to create a folder in pinterest where I group my different resources (backgrounds, png photos, overlays...) to search comfortably when im gonna make a layout. just like this:

start with simple layouts, don't try to do big things all at once and experiment little by little. you can start by joining a couple of photos on a background of a matching color and then add a psd to see how it looks, and from there you can try more and more things
