I just got recommended a āK-Dramas are pronatalist propagandaā video and while I love the discussion going on there, I couldnāt help feeling annoyed because thereās another show thatās pronatalist propaganda but no one is discussing.
The fucking dog cartoon Bluey. Look through the comment sections of bluey videos on youtube, or bluey fans in general and SO MANY OF THEM are talking about how that dog cartoon is making them want to have kids, that itās āhealing their inner childā and making them realize that having kids is great, actually. āIf this is propaganda from the Australian government to raise the birthrates then itās workingā <- comments I have seen.

Once you notice how many shows and books have pro natalist propaganda it's impossible to not see it everywhere you look.
I always think about those pieces of media that portray babies as these cooing laughing happy go lucky bundles of joy. who never cry and if they do they can be immediately soothed into silence with a small smile or a 'ohhh baby dont cry' anyone who has been around real children knows they cry. constantly. to the point parents killing their kids for constant crying is a REGULAR THING THAT HAPPENS. shaken baby syndrome is primarily caused by parents getting so overwhelmed by a constantly crying child they just lash out. yes, really.
having kids fucking SUCKS. it's why so many pieces of media try their absolute best to make the babies and toddlers as unealistic as possible. if they accurately portrayed that baby then the entire show would be drowned out by a child SCREAMING to the point they force themselves to throw up. you would never hear any of the dialogue and the dialogue would never be spoken to begin with. because the characters would be too burnt out or too busy providing for the child.
